IIIT Delhi offers both electives and mandatory courses. Students are at freedom to make a choice in case of electives while there is no such choice in mandatory courses.
Now, the best part of the CSE branch at IIIT Delhi is that it has the maximum elective slots of any other branch. So, students get to choose electives from a wide range of courses like
CSE will offer more academic flexibility than CSAI. CSAI will have some mandatory AI electives which might be beneficial if you are interested in the field. Also, you won’t have to study useless courses and can focus on AI. However, you will be restricted to the AI field, unlike CSE which gives you enough flexibility to pursue the field of your choice. Unless you are certain of your interest in AI, it’s best to choose CSE.
The choice between CSE from IGDTUW and ECE from NSIT/DTU/IIIT depends on the goals of your daughter. If she is planning to pursue higher studies like MS or a Ph.D., then IIIT Delhi is a decent choice as it’s a research-oriented college. But if she is looking for a job, then IIIT Delhi will offer limited opportunities. This is because getting a job in Core ECE companies like Western Digital and Qualcomm is not easy, as these companies prioritize master students. A few talented students do get placed in Software firms.
In IIIT Delhi first year is the same for both CSE and ECE during which the students are taught Introduction to Programming, System Management, Computer Organisation, Data Structure, and Digital Circuits. Your chances of placement also depend on your CGPA which should be preferably above 7. IIIT Delhi offers the flexibility to choose the CSE courses, provided that you complete the minimum credits requirement in the last two years of B.Tech for the degree.
In all, I feel, that NSIT and DTU will offer great job opportunities because of their brand name but IIIT Delhi will teach you new things and also offer research opportunities
So it’s best to go for NSIT or DTU or IIIT Delhi. Choose wisely.
NSUT Delhi is known for its COE (Computer Engineering) course.
The COE course is different from CSE. In COE, you will study hardware, electronics & signals, and codes & algorithms. Unlike CSE, software is not the main focus of study in COE.
Now as far as a comparison between them is considered, IIITD has a much better teaching environment than NSUT Delhi. Though it also has an experienced faculty, you will mainly be taught by Ph.D. students during the first two years.
Unlike before, however, the NSUT Delhi curriculum has been updated. There is now a CBCS (Choice Based Credit System) and you won’t have to compulsorily study unnecessary subjects. Both institutes have a pretty good placement record. Although the COE branch concerns itself more with hardware, students get placed majorly in software profiles.
All I can say is that NSUT Delhi has now an updated curriculum and a university status. On the other hand, IIITD is a comparatively new player in this field that is also performing quite well. Thus, both institutions are a good choice to pursue your computer studies.
JU is the best option among IIIT Delhi and IIEST for CSE. Although JU is way better than IIEST in CSE placements, it is slightly behind IIIT Delhi. IIIT-D has slightly better CSE placements. But JU offers an excellent ROI which makes it the most favourable option among these colleges. Moreover, its faculty is highly experienced and learned with many Ph.D. holders in just a single department. Here are some other reasons why you should consider joining JU
All these points sum up the fact that JU is an excellent choice for a CSE degree.
If you're trying to decide between IIIT Delhi and IIIT Allahabad, know that IIIT Delhi is better in many ways.
However, it's true that both IIIT Delhi and IIIT Allahabad aren't as good as IIIT Hyderabad at the moment. That being said, don't be surprised to see IIITD catching up soon, given its impressive progress over the years. In fact, IIITD has nearly doubled its campus size this year, and as a government university, the facilities and infrastructure are shocking - indoor heated swimming pool, stylish buildings and hostels, and awesome wifi speed.
Ultimately, whether to choose ECE or CSE depends entirely on your interests.
It's worth noting that IIIT Hyderabad's ECE program is superior to both IIIT Delhi's CSE program and IIIT Allahabad's CSE program.
IIIT Delhi is clearly the best choice out of the three options especially if we are talking about CSE. Your preference order should be the following.
IIIT Delhi (Indraprastha) > Thapar University > LNMIIT Jaipur
Cutoff: (IIIT D > Thapar University)
The quality of the students also has an effect on how the college performs and also in its rankings. The cutoff for CSE at IIIT Delhi is around 200-225+. Thapar University admits students with JEE Mains marks more than 170 for students’ outside Punjab and 150 marks for students from Punjab. The cutoff indicates IIIT D offers a better peer group.
Placements:
Thpar has a great coding culture. However, based on student crowd, placements, etc. the best option among the given choices is IIITD.
Considering your great JEE Main marks and percentage in the CBSE Delhi board, you have a high chance of making it to IIIT Delhi. A close friend had a similar profile and was able to join IIIT Delhi last year. He claimed his passion for CSE to be the sole reason he chose the institute over better-reputed ones. It's the best college if you are genuinely interested in CS and want to learn. Moreover, it’s a research-oriented institute so if you are a research enthusiast, you will find the best resources and facilities here.
I will suggest you choose IIIT Delhi over NSIT and DTU because it has been developing at a fast pace and will soon rank better than these colleges.
IIIT Delhi admits students into its B.Tech courses based on these ranks. IIIT Delhi ranks are released after taking into account both the JEE Main ranks and the bonus marks (awarded to eligible students).
Bonus marks are awarded for remarkable achievement in National Olympiads (NSEC, INMO, etc), KVPY, NTSE, FIDE ratings (chess), and much more.
The final rank list contains both kinds of students- those who got bonus marks, and those who did not. Admissions are finally done on the basis of this ranking list.
Placements in IIIT Delhi are dependent on individual profiles and skills. The college can just invite good IT companies but the package they will offer depends on you alone. IIIT Delhi has many big shots coming for placements including Qualcomm, Microsoft, Amazon, Google, MathWorks, Dell, Synopsys, Adobe, IBM, Accenture, Complex Systems Laboratory, etc. Some of these companies may not allow CSE students to sit for placements but that is rare. As long as you fulfill a certain GPA criteria and clear the test you will be interviewed.
In order to clear the coding tests, one must be proficient in computer programming and have enough knowledge of DBMS, OS, and AMD development be it Android ios web. To add value to your profile, you must do internships, projects, research, and good grades.
The CSE placement percentage for the BTech course this year stood at 97.38%, so you don’t have to worry about placements at all.
I am a first-year CSE student at IIIT Delhi. All the related subjects in CSE have more theory than required by an average Computer Engineer.
Here are some details on each subject you’ll learn during the 1st and 2nd semesters of this course:
1st semester-
2nd semester-
By describing each subject during the first year of CSE, I tried to resolve your query to some extent. The curriculum will move forward in a similar manner for the remaining years.
