How much salary do the last 50 MBA students get at final placements at B Schools like IIM Indore, IIFT Delhi, MDI Gurgaon, SIBM Pune, etc.?

Colleges invite companies for placements on the basis of the preference list created by the students themselves. This means that the most preferred companies visit in the initial days while the least preferred companies visit towards the end. This eventually means that the last of the batch gets placed by mediocre companies.

Now here is a fact, sometimes the companies visiting at the end in order to get higher preference and attract maximum students, offer high packages that are at par with the preferred companies.

My uncle was a placement coordinator at IIFT a few years ago and gave me an insight into the placement scenario of such B Schools. Numerically speaking if the median salary of a particular B School is X, then the packages offered to the last 59 students would be around 0.6X-0.7X.

College Name

Median Salary

Salary expected by last 50 candidates

IIM Indore

INR 24.09 LPA

INR 16.8 LPA

IIFT Delhi

INR 25.6 LPA

INR 17.9 LPA

MDI Gurgaon

INR 24 LPA

INR 16.8 LPA

SIBM Pune

INR 20.80 LPA

INR 14.5 LPA

The approximate salary offered to the last 50 candidates of the B Schools you mentioned is around 15-17 LPA.

Kindly note that these figures are based solely on guesses and anecdotes from my juniors, and are just meant to give an idea of the salary.

How do I increase my speed in MH MBA CET for targeting JBIMS?

SS
Sachin Sangle Posted On : February 20th, 2023
Counselor at Education and Career Advice (2015–present)

Your speed while you are attempting CET or any other exam, depends on three main factors: your knowledge, how quickly you can recall, and how quickly you can convert your knowledge into words and solve problems. The more knowledge you have acquired, the more confident you are at taking risks and not wasting substantial time on trivial questions. For this, you need to have solid basics. Some basic strategies you can adopt are

  • While solving Data Interpretation, focus on calculating faster and approximations within permissible limits
  • While solving Quant, focus on having a strong fundamental understanding of the concept than mugging up random shortcuts
  • For Reading Comprehension, reading daily will help you in improving speed and comprehension
  • For Logical Reasoning, solve in an organized manner so that you don’t waste time going through conditions repeatedly

Most importantly, give as many mocks as possible because the more questions you have solved, the more the solutions have become a part of your muscle memory.

After a 3-year course for a BBA, can we write the GMAT exam to do an MBA in ISB, Hyderabad?

JG
Jatin Gujrati Posted On : February 8th, 2023
Studied at Indian School of Business

Writing the GMAT and applying for ISB Hyderabad are both different things. One can sit for GMAT even before gaining any work experience while still in college. GMAT is just one of the many criteria required for ISB Hyderabad admission.

After completing BBA, apply through the Early Entry Option, which is meant for candidates with less than 2 years of work experience.

Although you can apply right after college, you can join ISB Hyderabad only after gaining a work experience of 2 years. With a good GMAT score, you should be able to target a wide range of MIM programs like that of London Business School, HEC Paris, etc.

What’s important is that you know what you want to pursue and are planning to apply early for it.

Placements are impacted by market conditions of Software companies’ performance of real estate. Placements for MBA depend on more than just gaining theoretical knowledge and good scores. You need to develop soft skills like:

  • an attitude of gratitude and humility

  • good communication skills

  • ability to work in a team

  • good negotiation

All these factors combined with your own luck and passion determine your placements.

Nowadays MBA has become as common as BCOM. Also the placements for MBA have seen a decrease in figures. Big firms only prefer students from big IIMs or reputed B Schools. So to secure the best package, work real hard and acquire as many skills as possible.
