How is life after passing out from JBIMS of finance student?
Life after passing out from JBIMS or any other Business school is full of drastic changes. Some major changes your life may have are listed below:

Does JBIMS offer MBA in IT or any management degree in IT?

My Brother got a call from IIM Nagpur and Jamnalal Bajaj for MBA. What should he do?
Your brother should choose Jamnalal Bajaj for MBA. JBIMS follows a better pedagogy for MBA. It is an old reputed management institute with a large alumni base. You can get a lot of advantages from their strong alumni network. The institute has a decent placement record. During the 2021 placement drive, the mean CTC offered to students was INR 23.16 LPA.
Can I get into JBIMS if my 12th percentage is 69.8? I am preparing for the CMAT. I am an OMS student.
Admission to JBIMS requires a high percentile score in entrance exams like CET, CMAT, or CAT, and not just a good academic profile. A 99.99 percentile score in any of these exams would be required for admission, and there will be no GD-PI round. If the student scores well on the entrance exam, they can enroll in JBIMS even with a 12th percentile of 69.8. However, the admission process may change year-to-year, so check the official website or the admissions office for the latest information.
Does academic performance matter for getting into JBIMS? I have 72.80 in 10th and 74% in 12th if I get 99.99 percentile in CET. Will I get admission in JBIMS?
Considering the past processes followed by JBIMS, it can be determined that either a direct written score-based admission or GDPI will be expected.
For the first possibility, calls will be issued based on the scores of the CAT and CET exams, and a group discussion and personal interview (GDPI) will be conducted. In this scenario, your academic record is of significant importance. The eligibility criteria for this process include a minimum of 65% in 10th grade and 60% in 12th grade. Thus, if your academic record is not up to par, there may be challenges, but if you perform well on other parameters, you should still have a chance of being successful.
In the second possibility, you can participate in the centralized admission process, where your academic record does not play a role. The admission will be solely based on the written score obtained in CET/All India tests. The eligibility criteria for this scenario align with the CET exam, which requires a minimum of 50% in graduation. So, you need not worry about your past academic performance and should focus on preparing well for the CET exam to secure a good score.
What are the chances of an applicant outside Maharashtra to crack MAH CET and get admission at JBIMS?
While JBIMS is a well-regarded institute and MAH CET is a competitive exam, being an applicant outside Maharashtra does not necessarily decrease your chances of cracking the exam or getting admission at JBIMS. Admission to JBIMS depends on various factors such as your performance in MAH CET, academic record, work experience, extracurricular activities, and performance in the selection rounds such as Group Discussions and Personal Interviews.
However, being an out-of-state candidate, you may face some challenges, such as a higher cutoff score, limited seats for out-of-state candidates, and difficulty in attending the selection rounds in person. To increase your chances of getting admission at JBIMS, you can focus on preparing well for the MAH CET exam, building a strong academic and extracurricular record, and gaining relevant work experience in the field of management.
Additionally, you can also consider applying to other top MBA colleges in Maharashtra that accept MAH CET scores, such as SIBM Pune, KJ Somaiya Institute of Management Studies and Research, and Welingkar Institute of Management Development and Research, among others. These institutes also offer excellent MBA programs and have a strong reputation in the industry.
Which college is better for an MBA in Marketing - JBIMS, SP JAIN or MDI Gurgaon in all various aspects and I have converted all three?
My personal preference is MDI Gurgaon among all the colleges you have mentioned. This institute excels in many aspects when compared to other B Schools.
Placements: Placements at MDI Gurgaon are much better than JBIMS and SP Jain. The table below has proven the same through statistics.

How many cutoff is required for MMS at JBIMS in CMAT and MH CET
This year, the bar for JBIMS was 99.95 percentile for the general category and around 99.50 percentile for OBC. The Centralised Admission Process (CAP) of the Government of Maharashtra is used to get into the two-year Masters in Management Studies (MMS) program at the Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies in Mumbai.
Scores on the MHA-MBA/MMS CET were taken into account when deciding who to let in. This year, there were no AI spots. For SIMSREE, AI students need at least 99.93 and CAT students need 96.
Will I be eligible for an MBA in A grade B schools like IIMs XLRI, NMIMS, JBIMS, etc., with scores of 90.6 in the 10th standard and 70 in the 12th standard?
As a candidate with a lower academic performance in the past, you are eligible for most of the business schools, except for a few, such as the Indian Institutes of Management in Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Calcutta, and Lucknow, which place a greater emphasis on previous academic records. However, XLRI is good news for you, as it does not consider your previous academics when shortlisting candidates. Additionally, SPJain may consider extending you a profile-based admission offer if your CAT score is at least 85 or higher and you have something unique in your profile. Other top business schools, such as NITIE Mumbai, MDI, and NMIMS, are easily within reach for you.
It is recommended that you focus on making the most of your current educational journey and not let your past academic performance impact your future opportunities. Aim to prepare well for the CAT exam, aiming for a top score, and accumulate as many quality resume points as possible to develop a unique and impressive profile for yourself. However, do not forget to live the life of an engineer, taking full advantage of your education. If you gain at least 2 years of work experience, you may consider taking the GMAT and applying to the Indian School of Business, which may consider extending you an admission offer.
What are the prospects of pursuing an MBA in Marketing from IIMs, JBIMS, XLRI, MICA, or SIBM, with poor academics, and how can one compensate for the same?
Your poor academic record can be a major hindrance, especially in summer placements because the companies know you haven’t done anything major yet in the B School. So I will suggest you some tips that might help you compensate for your low 12th class marks and get you a good internship offer
- Enroll in an online course as this might be a major topic of discussion in the interview. It should preferably be an advanced version of your current course or a unique course.
- Get involved in volunteer work at NGOs. This will not only prove to be beneficial during your interview but also will help you become a part of social service committees on campus.
- Master a new language preferably French, Mandarin or Spanish as this may increase your chances of getting International placement or foreign exchange.
- Look for internships that offer practical knowledge for a short period of time.
As far as the Final Placements are concerned, you will have to improve your profile to attract the best recruiters. Some tips to improve your general profile are
- Rather than focusing on your past academics, focus on the new phase of your life and give your best
- Go for courses that offer live projects as recruiters highly prefer such exposure. Sometimes even the on-campus committees offer such live projects. Many times the winners of such projects get amazing PPOs or cash prizes.
- Joining a good on-campus committee is beneficial not only in maintaining a good campus life but also improving your overall profile. You get amazing exposure by interacting with industry professionals in the corporate world during events and conferences.
- If you are skilled at writing, do the same for business magazines or websites.
All this will help you make the most out of your MBA experience and also improve your profile enough to attract the best placement offers. The only key is to work hard relentlessly.
