What is the admission process in Delhi university (B.Sc)?
You can apply for Delhi University B.Sc courses online. DU admission for undergraduate courses is solely based on CUET scores. NTA released CUET application form on April 6. The application deadline is 6th May 22.
To apply for BSc courses, go to the official website of DU. Register by using ‘New Applicant Signup’ tab. Fill out the application form, upload the required documents and pay the admission fee. The common eligibility criteria for DU BSc courses is 45% aggregate in 10+2 with Science stream.

What are the best colleges in Delhi University?
Every college affiliated with Delhi University offers premium education. It’s difficult to say which is the best. Yet I have made a list of top 10 colleges based on the cutoffs, results, and infrastructure.
- SRCC- SRCC or Shri Ram College of Commerce is well known for its Economic Hons. Apart from imparting the best education in commerce, it also conducts excellent placement drives.
- Hindu College- This college is best known for its Mathematics Hons. In fact it’s a good college for all science courses.
- St. Stephen College- This college does not follow DU Admission procedure but has one of its own. This college is also good for science courses
- Ramjas College- This is the best college for History Hons. Well known for its sports team, Ramjas College has connections with some foreign universities.
- Miranda House- In 2017, this college ranked 1st by the Ministry of Human Resources and Development (MHRD). This is one of the best all-girls colleges with an active placement cell.
- Shri Venkateswara College- This college is the best in South Campus for all the courses in general.
- LSR( Lady Shri Ram College For Women)- This is a good college for both commerce and arts.
- A.N.D.C.- Established in 1991, Acharya Narendra Dev College is the youngest college of DU. It is a primary college for science.
- Hansraj College- This college is one of the largest constituent colleges of Delhi University.
- A.S.R.D.- A.S.R.D. or Atma Ram Sanatan Dharma College ranked 5th by MHRD.
All these colleges have active placement cells, experienced faculty and best facilities.
Is it better to do a BSc in CS from DU or from CURAJ?
You should go for a B.Tech in CS, rather than a BSc degree. Most jobs usually ask for a 4-year long B.Tech degree or a B.Sc+M.Sc (5 years) in CS. So, you may face problems while applying for jobs. As for the colleges, DU will be a better option compared to CURAJ. In 2021, NIRF has ranked Delhi University 11th in India.
What is the criteria for M.Com admissions in Delhi University? Is it merit based or entrance based?
Admission to the PG program at DU is based on 2 modes:
- Merit-Based: 50% of the entire intake shall be filled by direct admission of Delhi University candidates only, based on merit.
- Entrance Based: The remaining 50% of the seats are filled through an entrance examination and Interview or Group Discussion.
DU M.Com Eligibility Criteria
For admission into any domain of M.Com from Delhi University, the candidate
- Must possess a bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject with a minimum of 65% aggregate marks.
- Must have a qualified CUET PG exam.
DU M.Com Admission Criteria
Candidates seeking admission to the M.Com program at Delhi University are required to
- Appear for the Common University Entrance Test (CUET PG), conducted by NTA.
- Qualifying candidates will be required to register on Delhi University’s admission portal for the selection process.
- Along with the registration, candidates will be required to fill in college and department preferences, based on which provisional allocation will be released.
For the final selection, a merit list will be released by Delhi University based on CUET PG scores, college and department preferences, availability of seats, reservation criteria, academic qualifications, and other factors.
How good is Ambedkar University as compared to Delhi University?
Ambedkar University is comparably better. It has a superior faculty base. The student-teacher ratio of the university is also lower, so each student gets more attention. Instead of traditional examinations, the institute evaluates students using innovative and more layered techniques. You will love to take part in those tests. For most disciplines, the curriculum is good.
Do we get migration certificate in Delhi University?
Yes, you get your migration certificate after the completion of your degree. But colleges don’t provide you with it. Right after completion, colleges only give you your:
- Character Certificate
- Provisional Certificate
The final degree certificate is handed over after around 1-2 years.
To get your Migration Certificate, you are required to fill out a form. This form can be obtained from your college or from V.C. Office. Get it attested by your college and submit it to the examination department of Delhi University.

Fees: INR 500
Note- students at the South campus are to apply for a migration certificate at the D.U’s examination department in the South campus. The rest have to apply at the examination dept. at the V.C office on the North campus.
What are the minimum marks required M.Com entrance to take admission in M.Com DU both for a regular and SOL?
For M.Com in DU, you can apply through two ways which are as follows –
First, which is purely based on your scores in graduation degree or direct admission. Eligibility criteria for the same is mentioned below:
- 65% if you are from the B.Com (Honors) course.
- 70% if you are from the B.Com course.
- Have further bifurcations for the non-creamy layer.
Second, which is purely based on the entrance.
Eligibility:
- 50% for B. Com (Honors)
- 55% for B. Com (Pass) or B.Com (Degree)
- 50% for B.A. (Hons.) Economics
- 60% for B.B.S., B.B.A., B.I.F.A., and B.B.E.
The eligibility is the same for both Regular and SOL. In SOL, the percentage of Cut-off is low as compared to regular, and the seat number is greater than regular. For further clarifications, you can take help from ‘Welcome to Department of Commerce M.Com.’
Should I consider leaving Delhi University for B. R. Ambedkar University, Delhi?
It depends on the college you are getting admission under Delhi University. If you are able to get into one of the top colleges in the North or South campus of Delhi University, you should stick with it. Otherwise, choosing AUD over DU will be better. One other thing that you should consider while making the choice is your ultimate goal, i.e. research/job. You should definitely choose AUD if you are interested in pursuing research.
Is it possible to have a migration from DU SOL to DU regular on the basis of your first year percentage?
DU SOL follows an annual system while the other colleges under Delhi University follow a semester system. Therefore, there is no possible migration in between the courses.
At DU, the semester system for UG courses was introduced back in 2011. Which made it difficult for DU SOL students to seek migration in the second or third year of their courses in regular college.
