I completed my B.Des in Interior and Furniture from LPU in 2023. As with any other degree, LPU has certain eligibility criteria for admission into its interior design courses.

First of all, I must inform you that LPU offers two undergraduate degrees in interior and furniture design. These are- B.Sc (Design- Interior and Furniture) and B.Design (Interior and Furniture)

The eligibility criteria for admission into B.Des (Interior and Furniture) at LPU are-

  • The candidate must pass their 10+2 or equivalent with at least 50% aggregate marks (with English as a core subject).
  • The candidate must qualify any of the following exams-

LPUNEST or CUET or UCEED or Under Graduate NID DAT (Prelims) or Under Graduate NIFT or NIFT B.FTech.

  • The condition for English as a compulsory subject may be waived off, given the candidate has studied their +2 or equivalent in English medium or with an equivalent subject.
  • For the minimum percentage requirement, 5% relaxation is awarded to candidates from North-East states/Sikkim/ Defence personnel and their dependents/ wards of kashmiri migrants.

The eligibility requirements for BSc. Design (Interior and Furniture) are-

  • The candidate must clear a Diploma (Interior Design or Architectural Assistantship or Civil Engg.) [(3 years after 10th) Or (2 years or 1 year after 10+2)] or equivalent with min. 50% aggregate marks.
  • 5% relaxation is offered to North-Eastern and Sikkim candidates/ Defence Personnel and their Dependents /Wards of Kashmiri Migrants.

If you clear these eligibility requirements set up by the LPU administration, you can seek admission to interior design courses at LPU with a Commerce (with Maths) background.
