Is CGC (CEC) Landran good for a Btech?

KS
Kritika Sharma Posted On : April 21st, 2021
Studied at Chandigarh Engineering College

It is a good college but the student should opt for it only when they are not getting into NIT and IIT. It is more reliable than most of the private colleges or universities as several companies are visiting every year and the placement rate of students is very good here.

Below given are some facts about CGC (CEC) Landran:

  • CGC Landran is good for placement only.
  • The college doesn't provide any practical or technical knowledge.
  • Faculties are good but the majority of the teachers only give assignments and yells at students for attendance and not submitting the assignment.
  • One of the most important things that students need to be concerned about is to develop skills. Always try to be a skillful person and try to utilize as many resources as possible. Even a very good college scorer can't able to get placed in good companies because they lack appropriate skills.

The table shows a brief overview of the institution.

Average Salary

Rs. 4.32 lakhs

Highest Salary

Rs. 26.97 lakhs

Fees

Rs. 3.09 lakhs

Overall, streams also matter if you are planning to take admission in CSE then it is the best otherwise you go for different options.

How is CGC landran for CS?

AS
Anuj Singh Posted On : April 21st, 2021
Indian Institute of Information Technology, Guwahati (2017)

CS branch stands out from all other branches in CGC Landran. In CGC, there are two colleges - COE and CEC

Looking at the academics, CEC is better.

Features of College:

  • In the CS batch of CGC, the strength of students is almost 700. In each section, there are 60 students.
  • The teaching skills of professors here are not decent. It is more theoretical based on than practical. You have to put in your own efforts. One of my friends was a student of the institute and after one month of the course, he decided to leave the course because of the faculty quality.

Fee for 4 years

INR 3.70 Lakhs

Highest Placement

INR 35.00 LPA

Major Recruiters

Accenture, HCL, Wipro Technologies, Cognizant, TCS, LG Soft, Google, etc.

Top Job Roles

Developers, Design Engineers, Solution Integrators, Network Administrators

To conclude, CGC is a decent college for CS branches. But it would be better to score more marks in JEE Mains to go for JAC Chandigarh.

How is CGC Landran for mechanical?

DB
Darshan Singh Bisht Posted On : April 20th, 2021

If you are mainly concerned with placements when it comes to CGC Landran for Mechanical, it is going to be tough. There are more than 800 students in a batch and crossing that hurdle to get placed is quite tough so my recommendation would not be for taking mechanical in this college.

As far as other branches are concerned, like CSE, IT and EC, you will definitely love studying there. You can get placed quite easily into decent companies and also get into international affairs like foreign exchange programs to countries like Belgium, China and UK.

Course Fee

3.62 lakh

Placement Percentage

60%

Highest CTC

10 LPA

Average CTC

4-5 LPA

Recruiting Companies

Amazon, Google, Microsoft, Wipro, Capgemini, Jaro Education, etc.

When it comes to faculty with the mechanical department, it is quite good. However, the infrastructure is not that great at all. Being a mechanical engineering student, you will not get the exposure or knowledge you are looking for as compared to other colleges like SRM, VIT, or MIT Pune.

In my opinion, you should only join CGC Landran if you are looking for CSE and EC and not for mechanical engineering at all.
