You can expect to get at any of the branches of the Heritage Institute of Technology if your GMR is 42,769 and you are in the ST category.

If you have a domicile in West Bengal, you may be eligible for admission to all branches offered by the Heritage Institute of Technology. However, if you are an outsider (i.e., a student from any state other than West Bengal) who appeared for the WBJEE exam, you may be considered a general category candidate, and the reservation quota may not apply to you.

Which college is good for a B.Tech between BVP Pune and Heritage Institute of Technology Kolkata?

SD

Studied at Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University ,Pune

BVP Pune would be a better choice as Pune is a technical city and plays an important factor in the placements. The city has all the MNCs and is the top place for a student for great placements.

Also, Bharti Vidyapeeth Pune is among the best private Universities in the city because of the well-educated and experienced faculty and also the placement packages it furnish. Therefore, you should go for BVP Pune as it will be a better choice.

DJ

Studies Architecture at Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology, Bhopal (2022

I can assist you with the latest scenario of Chemical Engineering at Heritage Institute of Technology, Kolkata.

Curriculum:

  • Being an autonomous institute, the curriculum is pretty up-to-date. Though subjects such as Petroleum Refinery Engineering, Piping, etc are missing
  • As the institute is new, you can see the slightest change in the syllabus over a timely basis.

Faculty:

  • Maximum teaching faculties have done their Ph.D. from reputed institutes and some even have exceptional teaching qualities.
  • There are few, who are willing to put in extra efforts for sincere students and guide them whenever possible.

Labs:

  • Almost all labs do not have a sufficient number of apparatus which leads to students performing experiments in groups.
  • But still, the labs are pretty much sufficient and enough to clear your basic idea about the subject.
  • Computer Labs lack modern softwares such as Aspen, ChemCAD, etc. but recently they have started introducing FLUENT and COMSOL, MATLAB, and AUTOCAD.

Research Facility:

  • You won’t see much research happening here due to a lack of infrastructure.
  • The project lab is not very well equipped but if want do some project you are guided by the faculty.

Placements:

  • Companies like Linde, Phillips Carbon Black Ltd., Haldia Petrochemicals, and Voith Paper recruit regularly.
  • There is a good aura for someone who’s aspiring to crack GATE to get into some PSU and also, who wants to pursue higher studies both in India as well as abroad.

Ultimately it totally depends on you and how you use the resources provided to you for your benefit and how you seize the opportunities which come to you.

In terms of infrastructure and exposure, KIIT is a better choice. The labs at KIIT are quite impressive. Even in terms of brand value and placements, KIIT is in a better position than Heritage. There are various societies at KIIT.

B.Tech Information Technology ,Techno India Salt Lake (2021)

Here are the cutoff trends for CSE at Heritage Institute of Technology.

Year  Cutoff by rank (WBJEE)
2019  2877
2020  2532
2021 2438

One of my friends got admission to CSE at Heritage in 2017. He got something like 72 to 74 marks in WBJEE 2017 and he got a rank of 5975.

So, scoring 80 to 84 marks will be enough for you to get the CSE branch of the Heritage Institute of Technology. But the cutoff marks always depend on the toughness of the paper and the quality of the batch appearing for WBJEE.

You can check the complete merit list on site for more details.

Heritage Institute of Technology (HIT) is one of the best engineering colleges among all the affiliated colleges with Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology. The courses have NAAC and NBA accreditation and are AICTE approved. It is also recognized among the national engineering institutes with 154th NIRF Ranking for Engineering 2020.

The institute witnessed a 100% placement record during the last few years. Most of the students have bagged packages from more than one company. The CSE, ECE, and IT branches have an edge over the other branches in the institute.

The placements statistics (overall) are below:

Placement Percentage 80-90%
Average Package 8-10 LPA
Lowest Package INR 3-4 LPA
Highest Package INR 16-20 LPA
Recruiting Companies Wipro, Tech Mahindra, TCS, Cognizant, etc.

Usually, grabbing the package in a broader bracket is a cumbersome task. Overall, HIT is the best among all the colleges of any other WBUT.

What are the actual fees of Heritage Institute of Technology?

PM
Pratyasha Mishra Posted On : September 22nd, 2021
B.Tech from Heritage Institute of Technology, Kolkata

The fee structure for B.Tech students of Heritage Institute of Technology, Kolkata is given below for your reference.

  • Tuition fee (per semester) – INR 44,000 (1st and 2nd semester), INR 45,100 (3rd and 4th semester), INR 46,200 (5th and 6th semester), and INR 47,300 (7th and 8th semester)
  • Admission fee (one-time fee) – INR 5,000
  • Library fee (one-time fee) – INR 6,000
  • Students’ welfare and sports & games fee (one-time fee) – INR 4,000
  • Caution deposit (one-time fee and refundable) – INR 10,000
  • University students’ development fee (INR 500 paid yearly to MAKAUT) – INR 2,200 (one-time fee)
  • Admission kit (one-time fee) – INR 1,000

Thus the total fee amounts to INR 72,200 when you take admission. Since you would have paid INR 20,000 during counseling, you need to pay an additional amount of INR 52,200 after taking the admission. There is a tuition fee waiver scheme implemented by the college according to which you need not pay the tuition fee. In that case, the fee is INR 28,200 and thus you will need to pay only INR 8,200 after taking admission.

The hostel fee is an additional INR 4,500 per month including the mess if you want to take this facility.

How much donation is needed to get B.Tech admission in Heritage Institute of Technology through management quota?

SH
Sanjay Haldar Posted On : September 21st, 2021
M.Tech Student at Indian Institute of Technology,Kharagpur (2018)

I have a few friends from Heritage Institute of Technology and here is their insight on the management quota admission at the institute.

According to them, for IT, the management quota fee goes up to 12 lakhs. If you have a decent academic record you can bargain to bring it down to 10-11 lakhs. For ECE, the fees go up to 16 lakhs.

However, before taking admission at Heritage through management quota you should know that you will not be missing out much if you choose to go to other colleges affiliated with MAKAUT. You will have almost similar placement opportunities and exposure.
