It is important to think before applying to institutes like these as it has been evident by many students like colleges such as GL Bajaj in Greater Noida promises about various facilities, infrastructure and placements which they ultimately fail to provide. It has also been seen that Tier1 colleges fail to get all of their students placed in campus placement drives.
You can take another year for the preparation if they wish in order to get better colleges. and give another trial at CAT.
On the other hand, if you still want to choose between the two and do not want to prepare for another year, then you can go for IBMR in Gurgaon due to the following reasons:

Having friends at both the institutions, I can say that these are ‘decent ‘colleges. Selecting a stream is more important. I believe you should do some research on your own to obtain the exact picture of now. You can have a better option, of taking admission in Tier I colleges or obtaining a higher CAT score, if possible attempt MAT, with a target of above 95.
In between these institutes, it is suggested that you choose the Jaipuria Institute of Management.

There are certain things you need to consider before applying like your stream of choice, do a thorough alumni check, the salary package offered, etc.
A few of my friends graduated from Sharda University and G. L. Bajaj. Here is some information about these universities that might help you know about them a bit better. Both the colleges are good but there are some pros and cons.
Particulars | Sharda University | G. L. Bajaj |
Total fees | 6.85 Lakhs – 7.71 Lakhs | 4.36 Lakhs – 10.45 Lakhs |
Placement percent | 50% | 95% |

It is suggested that you go for Sharda University as it is much better than G. L. Bajaj. However, ultimately it is your decision. .
Having talked to multiple students studying in these colleges and based on the interaction I had with them here are some of the insights that might be useful to you:

You need to introspect and work hard for the MBA entrances this year and aim to get into the top or at least good mid rung institutes. That being said, if you have to take admission this year, no matter what, I would suggest going for GL Bajaj of Management and Research.
If you are willing to pursue B.Tech and we’re not able to make it into IITs or NITs, then I suggest taking a drop year and applying for better engineering colleges than making a hasty decision and choosing IMS. The reason why I advise you on giving up IMS is that its Engineering department is not up to the mark. The quality of education is very poor and in the end, you will just end up with a Degree Certificate and no knowledge or innovative grooming. If you decide on a certain branch then it’s important to know that no matter which specialization you go for, you will be placed under TCs or any other local software company. You won’t be able to climb higher than this. So if your goals and standards are high I suggest you think twice before choosing IMS.
Honestly speaking, it’s highly illogical to compare a premiere B School like Jaipuria Institute of Management with a technical institute like GL Bajaj Institute of Management and Technology.
GL Bajaj on the other hand functions under the umbrella of Dr. Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU). This is more of a technical institute than a B School.
So both these institutes cannot be compared. If you are planning to pursue an MBA, then Jaipuria is the right choice but if you are planning to pursue Engineering only then is GL Bajaj a decent option.
All these institutes offer decent Mechanical Engineering programs. JUET has been ranked 86 among the top 100 universities in India by NIRF. Whereas G.L. Bajaj Noida and Medicaps Indore are ranked 26 and 118 for B.Tech by India Today.
JUET Guna:
Admission-
For BTech admission, 60 seats are filled through JEE and another 60 is on a merit basis (10+2 results).
The tuition fee per semester for B.Tech is Rs.82500 and Rs.42000 for M.Tech.
There are a total of 120 seats for B.Tech and 10 seats for the M.Tech course.
Facilities-
There are Computer-Aided Design Lab, Computer Integrated Manufacturing Lab, Mechatronics Lab, Fluid Mechanics and Machinery Lab, and many other lab facilities to ensure the practical skills of the students.
The laboratories are well equipped with advanced manufacturing technologies such as CNC machines, Robots, Additive manufacturing machines, and software packages such as Autocad, Pro/Engineer ABAQUS, Magics RP, Edge CAM, etc.
Placements-
Nearly 110 students of the 2016-2020 B.Tech Mechanical Engineering batch got placed after graduation.
Major recruiters are Adani Wilmar, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., JSW Steels Ltd., Bosch Ltd., John Deere, Liu Gong, DHL, Sanghi Cements, Vihaan Networks Ltd., and Lutron and many more.
G L Bajaj:
Admission-
The admission to the B.Tech program is through JEE Mains.
The total course fee is 2.2 lakhs
Facilities-
The department has a Thermodynamics and Applied Thermodynamics lab, Fluid Mechanic lab, Dynamics of Machines lab, CAD/CAM lab, and Material Science lab, and many other facilities.
It has centers like the Design Innovation Centre, Centre for Aerodynamics, Centre for HVAC-R, and Centre for Robotics & Automation and SAP Learning Hub.
Placements- The department equips students as industry-oriented engineers.
Fortune industries such as Graziano, Saint Gobin, DCM Shriram, Systemair, Elgi, Tech Mahindra, and Infosys are the main recruiters.
The average CTC offered is 4.4 LPA.
Medicaps:
Admission-
The admission to the B.Tech and M.Tech Mechanical Engineering program is through JEEMains and GATE examination.
The course fees for B.Tech and M.Tech are 4 lakhs and 1 lakh.
Available seats for B.Tech are 180 and 18 for M.Tech.
Facilities- The Mechanical Engineering department of the Medicaps has more than 52 highly experienced faculty members and 13 fully-fledged laboratories with modern machinery and software.
Placements-
Some popular recruiters include TCS, Wipro, Zetatek, Umang Engg, Amazon, Force, Wintek Tapadia, Skill Ventory, Locus, and many others.
The average CTC at the institute is 3.88 LPA.
Hence, it is better to choose either JUET or Medicaps. Both offer B.Tech and M.Tech degrees in Mechanical Engineering, along with advanced curriculum and well-equipped laboratory facilities to make the students apt for the emerging market demands.
