How good is Khalsa College Amritsar?

CD
Chetan Das Posted On : December 28th, 2021
studied at Khalsa College, Amritsar (2018)

Khalsa College Amritsar is one of the oldest colleges. It is known for its history, scholars and its architectural grandeur. It holds a very good reputation in North India.

Overall it is a good college, considering academics, sports and other extracurricular activities. It’s reputation attracts students from India and abroad. They have a highly experienced faculty and are really good.

The placements at this college are average. The salary package offered to most of the students is 2.5 LPA. Only about 15% of the students receive a good job offer. Internships were also provided in small firms only but not in any reputed organization.

In many courses, the salary package offered was about 2-3 LPA. The college has to improve their placement cell so that all students get a proper job offer.

Khalsa College is good when it comes to campus environment, practicals and inter-college activities, but in academics and placements it surely lags behind.

You will get opportunities everywhere if you put in your honest effort and dedication to the job.

Before making any decision, do a good research on the courses offered in Khalsa College. Choose the one that interests you. Also stay open to other choices as well. Make sure that the course you choose provides good job opportunities or research opportunities, and then choose accordingly.

This institute provides admission for most of the courses based on science (non-medical) background. The best courses if you are from the commerce stream are B.Com (Accounting and Finance) or BBA (Bachelor’s of Business Administration)

Both the fields require strong analytical skills , good communication and knowledge in economics to meet the industry demands. Look out for better opportunities in these fields and analyze them before setting up on one.

You can also pursue something unrelated to what you studied during 12th, like Fashion Designing or Journalism and Mass Communication.

How good is Khalsa College Amritsar for a B.Sc. (Hons.) in Chemistry?

DN
Debanjan Nag Posted On : December 28th, 2021
B.Sc. (Hons.) in Agriculture Science & Agriculture, Khalsa College, Amritsar (2020)

Khalsa College of Engineering and Technology (KCET) is located in Amritsar, Punjab, India.

According to the reviews online, Khalsa College is really good when it comes to overall campus atmosphere, practicals and inter college activities.

It was the first one to offer a B.Sc. course in Punjab. But the academics and curriculum is average and needs a lot of improvement. There are only a limited number of the companies visiting the campus every year for all the departments.

The faculty and management staff are not very cooperative. The faculty often skips classes and are unable to complete the syllabus. This has led to students opting for self studying rather than regularly attending classes.

It is suggested that you look for other options as well, because to succeed ahead you will require better guidance and approach for the course.

What is better, Khalsa College or GNDU?

TG
Tirtha Goyal, Posted On : November 15th, 2021
Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science and Engineering, Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar (2016)

Khalsa College used to be associated with GNDU but now it is a different university. Both colleges are good and will provide you with a great experience. Some consider Khalsa to be better than GNDU, though it is a bit expensive.

GNDU has average placements. Being on the main campus won't be beneficial, as students from the regional campus also will take part with you in the placements. Hence, increasing the demand.

Very few companies take part in the placement program and are known to offer fewer job roles. Thus, most of the time students from the main campus receive zero placements.
