How do I get a transcript from GNDU Amritsar?

HT

Well, the procedure is straightforward. You have to go to the Administration Block and the Transcripts Office on the top floor.

You need to submit an application that explains why you require transcripts and lists all required credentials. Furthermore, you must pay a fee that is determined by the number of transcripts you require. Three sets of them used to cost 7000 INR each (one set comprised eight transcripts, one for each semester of B.tech), a few years back.

You can pay the fee and receive a token slip from the accounting department. The token must then be submitted to the Administration Block office. They'll most likely tell you to wait a week, but if you're lucky, you'll get them sooner.

Which is a better college among CSE, GNDU Amritsar, and CGC Landran, according to placement?

MS
Maher Sinha Posted On : July 23rd, 2022
Bachelor of Technology in Information Technology & Computer Programming at Chandigarh Engineering College

CGC Landran is the better option for CSE. The department has a good faculty base. The professors try their level best to cooperate with students. There are regular CR meetings, to resolve the problems students are facing. The institute organizes TPP lectures, and training sessions from the first year, itself.

CSE has a 100% placement rate. Microsoft, Google, Adobe, TCS, etc. visit CGC Landran campus placements regularly. The average package for the branch is around INR 3-4 LPA.

Which is better for engineering, GNDU or PTU?

MA

PTU and GNDU both are well-reputed colleges that have unique strengths and weaknesses. While PTU is a bit flexible in terms of exam pattern, GNDU follows the rule of a year back. The choice of the college also depends on the course you will be studying. Usually, PTU fares better in most cases.

Ultimately, it all depends on the college or university campus you are taking admission. Most colleges in Punjab have a pathetic academic ambiance. So go for the main campus of any university else look for a decent college in your area.

In all, GNDU offers better placement opportunities provided that you are on the main campus.

Is GNDU Amritsar good or bad?

AJ

GNDU Amritsar is a good institute. The campus is great and you can experience nature there with a large number of fields and gardens in and around the campus.

I have a few friends who graduated from the institute and here is what they shared about the institute.

  • For the course of graduation in physiotherapy from the sport, medicines, and physiotherapy department, the faculty is interactive and friendly.
  • The students at GNDU feel active all day due to its infrastructure and the greenery found all around the campus. Transportation to the city from campus is cheap and manageable.
  • At the institute, students are supporting many initiatives taken by the Govt. Also, there are many departmental committees that organize various cultural and technical fests.
  • The placements at GNDU are good and many companies visit the campus placements. In the placement drive for 2020-21, the highest CTC offered was 13.50 LPA.

Therefore, you can prefer GNDU for any of the courses provided by the institute as it is one of the best universities in Punjab and worth all the money one spends on education.

What are some helpful tips for students starting their first year at GNDU?

MK
Manpreet Kaur Posted On : October 21st, 2021
B.Tech Computer Science and Engineering, Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar (2019)

My brother is in GNDU and here are his tips.

  • Enjoy your initial days at the campus, as these will not be repeated any time soon.
  • Take advantage of every opportunity to live life to the fullest.
  • Try hard to achieve the CGPA/SGPA/Percentage eligibility criteria. It would reduce the likelihood of failures and low grades in the end.
  • To cover good grades in the end, try to score higher on minor exams (MSTs). The lesser the syllabus, the higher the scoring aspect. Don’t wait until finals.
  • Maintain consistency. Revision every day will keep help you stay up to date while reducing the amount of pressure at the end.
  • Try to read more books to clear up any remaining doubts and gain a broader perspective on concepts.
  • Try to exceed 75% attendance.

These are some of the things that you should keep in mind.

What are the best things for GNDU students to do on weekends?

IM
Indrajeet Mishra Posted On : October 21st, 2021

I have a few friends from GNDU and according to them, here are some of the things that you can do on weekends.

  • GNDU is known for its massive collection of periodicals and historical records. The book collection is fantastic, and it's the finest place to be because you'll have so much to explore. Make the most of your time at the GNDU library because it houses some rare publications, papers, and manuscripts, particularly in the fields of science and architecture.
  • If you enjoy nature, you have arrived at one of India's top campuses. You can see migratory birds, including some Himalayan birds migrating south for the winter.
  • Work on improving your photography skills. Amritsar, particularly especially GNDU and the surrounding regions, is a photographer's dream.
  • The food here is the best. Chole Kulche is a popular Amritsar street food, and there is one particular restaurant at Hall Gate, directly across from the IDBI Bank, that serves the tastiest.
  • If you want to experience modernity and contemporary culture, go to Lawrence Road, where two new malls have recently opened. Ranjit Avenue is also worth visiting.
  • Take the train to Attari, the border settlement, from Cherrhahata Sahib. You will simply enjoy the journey, it is breathtaking.

Overall, Amritsar has a lot to offer, but most of it is buried within the city walls, and much of it is unknown to tourists, so much of it is often overlooked. So try to explore and enjoy to the fullest. Make the most of your time until you are in GNDU.

Is there any helpful tip to score a good percentage in the GNDU University exams?

BB
Bhumika Bose Posted On : October 5th, 2021
Studied at Guru Nanak Dev University,Amritsar (2020)

On the main campus of the University, there is a grading system and the CGPA is calculated based on the grades scored by a student. Therefore, a good CGPA depends on a good grade. The students who score above 81 marks attain a grade of A+ in the particular subject. For the minors, a student gets 3 chances to improve their performance. If a student fails to attain good marks in the first minor then she/he can go for improving the same in 2nd minor or the majors. The syllabus that comes in the minors is less as that compared to the majors. Here are some tips on how to manage your studies for majors and minors.

  • The library has many books and one can make full use of the main University’s library.
  • Try to study the syllabus mentioned on the University’s website beforehand.
  • The schedule gets busy usually on the weekdays and the weekends remain free. Therefore, try to study on the weekends and complete assignments or files.
  • The University teachers are friendly and cordial and will help you to complete the syllabus one misses in the class or is unable to understand.
  • Try to give time to the lectures one misses and complete that on time because there is very little time available once the minors get started.

These are some ways through which one can manage the time and attain a high CGPA. Follow these tips positively to do well in your university exams.

Which is better for engineering GNDU or PTU?

AS
Arnav Singh Posted On : October 5th, 2021
Studied Aerospace and Aeronautical Engineering,I. K. Gujral Punjab Technical University (2017)

Both the PTU and GNDU are different in their terms and have their advantages and disadvantages. The GNDU is strict with the examination rules, whereas at PTU rules regarding examinations are quite relaxed in comparison. Choosing PTU or GNDU also depends on which course you are choosing. For some courses, PTU is better, while GNDU is better for others. Here is a brief highlight of the placement statistics for PTU and GNDU.

Parameters GNDU PTU
Average CTC 3 LPA 3-4 LPA
Highest CTC 13.50 LPA 12 LPA
Major recruiters Chegg, Amazon, TCS, HDFC IBM, Wipro, Airtel

At last, everything depends on the college you want to opt for. If you are coming to Punjab from any of the places they don’t. The private colleges are not that good in the state. Therefore, don’t fall for the private colleges of Punjab.

For any admission, apply for the university campus and not for the private colleges. Instead, take admission in your city or the native place.

My friend has got 77K AIR in JEE Main. He wanted to know if he should go for GNDU Amritsar or GNE Ludhiana?

S
Sagardeep Posted On : March 2nd, 2023
Studied at Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar

You are considering pursuing either mechanical engineering or electrical engineering. We highly recommend you consider GNE Ludhiana. The Amritsar Campus of GNDU only offers three B.Tech streams: Computer Science, Electronics and Communication, and Urban Planning. However, the mechanical and civil engineering streams are available at the regional campus of Sathiala and were established in the 2014 batch.

The faculty for Computer Science and Electronics at GNDU is exceptional. However, it is important for you to research placement statistics and other relevant information before making a final decision.

If your rank is 77k, there may be a slight chance for you to get into mechanical engineering at GNE. However, there is an option for you to change streams after one year if there are any vacant seats in your preferred department.

Which is the best PTU and GNDU college in Punjab?

MA
Madhav Aneja Posted On : August 24th, 2023
Lived in Chandigarh, India

My brother was admitted to PTU and regretted his decision a lot in the first year. However, he wants to be financially strong enough to restart his education in a new college and pay the fees again. He continued studying at PTU and graduated in 2015.

Soon he landed a government job and he realized that college doesn't matter in the long run. What matters is your knowledge and ability to ace the interview. Choosing either college, GNDU or PTU, will offer similar opportunities as it is you who decides your prospects.

So rather than focusing on the ‘better college’, become a better person and become a top ranker. As long as you are committed to hard work, all colleges will offer similar opportunities to you.
