Which is better, NIT Silchar, NIT Agartala, or NIT Mizoram?

AB

NIT Silchar is a far better option than both NIT Agartala and NIT Mizoram. There are a number of strong reasons that support my claim I have listed the most important ones

  • Nit Silchar has an excellent placement scenario for all branches. NIT Silchar average package stood at INR 13.58 LPA, NIT Agartala median package stood at INR 7 LPA, and NIT Mizoram median package 2021 stood at INR 6.80 LPA. So NIT Silchar definitely has much better placements than the other two colleges.
  • NIT Mizoram BTech was ranked 88 out of 170 in India 2023, NIT Agartala BTech ranking is 91 out of 200 in India 2023 while NIT Silchar BTech ranking is 40 out of 200 in India. The drastic difference in rankings proves that NIT Silchar is way ahead of than other two NITs.
  • The rate of development is very high in NIT Silchar in every sector.
  • The campus of NIT Silchar is beautiful and huge, spreading across 600+ acres. It has a better campus and infrastructure than the other two NITs.

So, it’s advisable to give preference to NIT Silchar over NIT Agartala and NIT Mizoram due to the above reasons.

Should I join NIT Mizoram or any other Tier III Private Engineering College?

PP
Pratik Parikh Posted On : April 12th, 2023

When considering admission to a college, it's important to think about various factors, such as location, faculty, exposure, and opportunities for career growth. Let's take a closer look at NIT Mizoram and whether it's a good choice for you.

  • NIT Mizoram is located in a remote area, which may limit your exposure to various job opportunities and other activities that are available in bigger cities.
  • While the faculty at NIT Mizoram may be knowledgeable, it's important to note that there is always a chance that you may not receive the education you desire or need.
  • In terms of job opportunities, NIT Mizoram may not offer as many opportunities as private colleges located in bigger cities. This is partly due to its location and also due to its smaller size.

However, it's also important to keep in mind that your chances of getting a good job or succeeding in your career don't just depend on the college you attend. It's up to you to put in the effort and take advantage of the resources available to make the most of your college experience.

Private colleges in bigger cities may offer more opportunities for internships, networking, and exposure to various industries, which could increase your chances of finding a good job after graduation. However, it's important to consider the cost of attending private colleges in bigger cities, which may be significantly higher than attending a college like NIT Mizoram.

How is NIT Mizoram? Is NIT Mizoram worth joining? What are the bright sides of NIT Mizoram?

RS
Rishabh Singhal Posted On : June 28th, 2021

NIT Mizoram is one of the new NITs that was established in 2010. The MHRD recognizes NITs as institutes of national importance. You may already be aware of the NIT brand, which will help you in your future career. Being a student here myself, I can say that NIT Mizoram over other private institutes will undoubtedly be a better choice.

  • As it is a new NIT, it does not have a permanent campus yet, but that will not be a problem because college buses are provided from the hostel to college.
  • It is located in Aizawl, which is a lovely city with beautiful weather all year.
  • The faculty is excellent. The teachers here have PhDs, and those with a master's degree are pursuing a Ph.D.
  • NIT Mizoram offers many Giant courses that are not available at any private institute.
  • It previously held a course on Robot Operating System and is currently holding 5 more Math and Electrical courses.
  • The infrastructure of our Virtual Classroom is among the best in the country.
  • Even IIT Guwahati does not have such cutting-edge VCR infrastructure.
  • Annual techno-cultural fests are also held. In which students participate in events such as drama, dance, and singing, etc.
  • They also host an annual sports festival.

Despite the fact that NIT Mizoram is often looked down upon due to its remote location, this place has its own flavor. So, in all NIT Mizoram is one of the best institutes we have in India.

Which is better, NIT Raipur or NIT Mizoram?

AB

One of my friends completed his Engineering from NIT Raipur recently and I think his review will help you in choosing one between NIT Raipur and NIT Mizoram.

  • Academics: The academic ambiance is average and most of the time you will have to resort to self-learning.
  • Infrastructure: The old infrastructure is being renovated and many modern facilities have been implemented to make the campus life better.
  • Hostel food: Like any other hostel the food served is below average but you will get used to it after a few weeks.
  • Faculty: The faculty is a mixed breed of arrogant old professionals as well as some young passionate ones.
  • Seniors: There is no ragging at all and seniors will become your best mentors provided that you maintain a good rapport with them.
  • Places to explore: Raipur is a beautiful city with many fun places to explore. Moreover, it’s extremely safe as the crime rate is very low.
  • Performance of students: I think the best way to analyze the credibility of a college is by checking the performance of its students. NIT Raipur has had many GATE toppers over the past few years. Additionally, its students have made it to reputed B Schools like IIM, XLRI, and others.

In my opinion, NIT Raipur is much better than NIT Mizoram.

Both the National Institute Of Technology Sikkim and National Institute Of Technology Mizoram has good placement. I have a few friends from both institutes, and I was able to get the placement information from them. Here are the recent placement highlights for both institutes.

Parameters NIT Sikkim NIT Mizoram
Average CTC 8 LPA 7.11 LPA

Lowest CTC 5 LPA 5 LPA
Major recruiters Intel, Wipro, HP, Xerox, Tata Consultancy Services, Microsoft, etc. Yodlee Envestnet, Capgemini, L&T, ECC, Vedanta, etc.

The only difference the institutes have in their placements is due to the different student intake, importance imposed in practical-based learning, etc.

Which is better, production engineering at NIT Agartala or ECE at NIT Mizoram?

SM
Spandita Majumder Posted On : July 28th, 2021
Studied at National Institute of Technology, Agartala (2019)

Your decision completely depends on your priority as to what is the most important to you, the branch or the college. Being a graduate from NIT Agartala, I would suggest you go for NIT Agartala rather than NIT Mizoram.

  • If college is the most important to you then you should go for NIT Agartala. The infrastructure is far better than most of the NITs.
  • You may have to face some trouble regarding the faculties as they are not up to the mark.
  • If the branch is your priority go for ECE, however, Production Engineering also has grown as a department. You can make your careers in Supply Change, Quality Management, and Control, etc.
  • Other than this, your choice should depend upon the location. Give preference to the one that's closer to your home.
  • Both the colleges are tier 3 Indian engineering colleges and the graduates have been working in companies with a package of 3 to 4 lakhs per annum.
Categories Production Engineering at NIT Agartala ECE at NIT Mizoram
Course Fee 6.31 lakh 5.43 lakh
Highest CTC 8-10 LPA 6-7 LPA
Average CTC 5.5 LPA 3.5 - 4 LPA
Recruiting Companies L&T, NTPC, JP Morgan, Reliance, etc. Bharat Electronics Limited, Tech Mahindra, IBM, HP, etc.

Both branches are equally good in their own ways. But ultimately it is your decision to choose where you want to study. It is suggested that you go for NIT Agartala as it is a more experienced institution than NIT Mizoram.
