Having friends who studied Chemical Engineering from NIT Srinagar, I can assure that it is really good.

Various PSUs visited the chemical department and offered great packages. All of those who were recruited are currently doing very well in life as they have stable jobs.
Out of these candidates, there were certain ones who chose to go for further studies. And as far as I remember, one of my batchmates scored really well in the GATE exam.
Some of my batchmates decided to go for an MBA from the National University of Singapore - which is a very prestigious institute.
