IIT Hyderabad is the first premier institute introducing Artificial Intelligence as an undergraduate course. The institute is ranked 8 for Engineering by NIRF 2020.

Admission:

  • The cut-off for AI in the first round is 434 and the second round is 623. Also, the cutoff rank for the program is Male: 478-657, Female: 1453-1601.

  • Students need to qualify for the JEE mains exam and get a good score in the JEE Advanced exam.

  • Eligibility criteria are 10+2 with 75% aggregate in the science stream.

The course structure of IITs is quite expensive. It includes mess, hostel, basic amenities for the hostel stayers. A different structure is maintained for the day borders. The BTech course fee is INR 2.23 lakhs per year.

Research:

Some of the recent research work in the field of AI at the institute include a Multi-space approach to zero-shot object detection, A little fog for a large turn, Quality Aware Generative Adversarial Networks.

Faculty:

  • Around 30 faculties are present in the AI department. All of them are highly experienced and have research interests in areas like Data Analytics and Machine Learning.

  • The faculties help students to apply the classroom concepts into the real world.

Placements:

The median salary received by the students is 12 LPA.

IIT Hyderabad has also announced the second cohort of the Professional Certification program in AI in collaboration with Talent Sprint. The course is valid for both college and young professionals. It is a six months program including a five-week boot-camp. Topics covered in the program include AI, IoT, Blockchain, and other quantum technologies.

Since it was introduced recently into the curriculum, it is predicted to be one of the fastest-growing technologies in the market. After some years AI professionals will outpace the software engineers. Seats are less in the IITs, students really need to work hard and secure their seat.
