You should choose IIM Calcutta. It is better in terms of peer group, faculty profiles, ranking across the country and abroad, location, alumni base, and placements. You will get better opportunities at IIM Calcutta.
As per the recent statistics, IIM Calcutta placements for the sales and marketing sector are pretty good. Almost 14% of students received placements in General Marketing and Marketing sector. The average CTC offered by the companies in this sector is INR 29 LPA.
IIM Calcutta also has a better brand value compared to IIM Lucknow. In the long run, you can benefit a lot from that.
Both IIM Lucknow and IIM Calcutta are well-reputed institutes for MBA, which makes it difficult to choose one institute over the other. It would be better if you contact both IIM Lucknow and IIM Calcutta alumni for this. Alumni of any institute are the best people who can give you insights about the specialization and the institute.

According to the NIRF Rankings, IIM Calcutta and IIM Lucknow are ranked at the 3rd and 4th positions respectively.
Fee Structure:
The course fee for an MBA at IIM Lucknow is 10.05 lakhs for the first year. Whereas, MBA course fee at IIM Calcutta is 27 lakhs for the 1st year. The overall CAT cutoff percentile for 2019 at IIM Lucknow and IIM Calcutta was respectively 85 and 90.
Placement:
Talking strictly from the placement perspective, IIM Calcutta would be the better option than IIM Lucknow. Out of 443 students, 12% of students were offered a marketing/sales role in IIM L while in IIM C with a batch of 444, 16% of students were offered roles in the same domain for the 2020 batch. Also, the average CTC at IIM C is 27.9 LPA, whereas the average CTC at IIM L is 20 LPA. There aren’t any leading marketing firms that visit IIM Lucknow but not IIM Calcutta but vice versa exists.
