Which among BIT Mesra and NIT Rourkela is better?

One of my friends is a student of BIT Mesra and yet claims that joining NIT Rourkela would have been a better decision. He regrets choosing BIT Mesra because

Very adamant and unapproachable administration that does not pay heed to students' complaints.
The campus has poor infrastructural facilities and students constantly face issues related to water, electricity, and network
The faculty pool comprises only a handful of qualified professors and most of them are not interested in teaching.
The institute has imposed illogical restrictions that affect the quality of campus life largely.
The institute charges exorbitantly high fees making it difficult for financially weak students to join.

Overall, I will say BIT Mesra offers a good academic environment but that is it. It lacks a vibrant college life so if you are looking for one, choose NIT Rourkela!

ECE, CSE, and IT departments are excellent at BIT Mesra. Although other core branches at NIT Rourkela are much better.

A friend of mine is a student of BIT Mesra, so I have some idea about the campus. The campus is good and there are various club activities going on throughout the year. There are more than 10 student clubs of engineering departments, music, and culture including the Highlander Adventure Club, Engineering Society, etc.

Here's a table comparing the basics of both the institutes.

As you can see from the table above, BIT Mesra is so much costlier than NIT. The course fee will be half at NIT Rourkela. Choose BIT Mesra, only if you are ready to pay a huge amount of course fee.
