How is IIT Bhubaneswar in civil place?

IIT Bhubaneswar is a second generation IIT but despite that fact, it’s doing quite well in terms of placement. According to NIRF Rankings 2020, the institute ranks at 22 among the engineering colleges in India.

The placement statistics of 2019 suggest 89% of students from the civil engineering department got placed. Even though it’s the popular belief that there is not much scope for civil engineering in India and most students prepare for non-core placement from the very first year of their engineering degree. In IIT Bhubaneswar this is not the case, as 70% of the students from the civil engineering department get core placemats. The average salary package offered during placement is 10 LPA. The highest salary package offered went up to 39 LPA in 2019.

Some of the top companies like Amazon, Adobe, Accenture, Gupta Solution, Flinto Solution, Honeywell, ISRO, IOCL, Jindal Stainless Ltd, KEC International, KIIT, L&T construction, L&T Ltd, Microsoft, MathWorks, Mastercard, PNB Metlife, TATA steel, TATA Advance System, Thermax, TESCO recruited students from IIT Bhubaneswar last year.
