No, there is no such dress-code in IIT Bhubaneswar. But there are few basic rules regarding dress code like other colleges IIT Bhubaneswar expects the girls to follow. There’s not a single brand or type of laptop that the students of CSE at IIT Bhubaneswar uses. The choice of laptop is different for different people. Which laptop you are going to use depends on you and you should choose based on what you are gonna use the laptop for. IIT CSE curriculum does not require a powerful laptop unless you are a true enthusiast of coding. Also, the CSE first-year course curriculum doesnt really require a laptop, so there is plenty of time to figure out what laptop you want. You can do all your academic work that an IIT CSE curriculum demands with any standard laptop which has 8GB RAM, at least 1 TB HDD, Intel i5 8th Generation, 7- 10 hours battery backup, optional graphic card. Yes, the main new campus hostel will accommodate M.Tech students. Due to severe cyclonic storm Fani, the main campus of IIT Bhubaneswar which is at Argul took huge damage. But the authorities acted quickly on renovation and from May 2019, M.Tech students were accommodated at the permanent campus in Argul along with other students. There are accommodations for both boys and girls in Brahmaputra Hall of Residence and Ganga Hall of Residence respectively. Hostel rooms are on a single-occupant basis. Hostels are equipped with basic facilities like Wi-Fi, Basketball Court, Volleyball Court, Badminton Court, Table Tennis, and Carrom, etc. Inside the campus, there are ATM facilities available 24 hours. There is also a small shopping complex from where students can buy their daily necessities.

When will IIT Bhubaneswar's new campus be ready for students to shift?

IIT Bhubaneswar has a permanent campus of 936 acres established in 2008. Most of the campus buildings have been up and running since 2015. There are separate hostels for boys and girls and all the accommodation has been shifted to the new campus, which is 30 kilometers away from the old campus. There are enough numbers of lifts, washing machines, Geysers, Water Purifier cum cooler in every wing. There are also common rooms (with TV sets), library and gym facilities inside the hostel itself. As of 2019 two more boys hostel have been established. There are separate buildings for first-year classes and a lab complex that has been made for students. It has reported that the campus buildings were completed by January 2017. The outdoor sports activity areas are not completed yet but most of the new IITs have the same situation. All the new admissions are accommodated in new campuses and sports complexes are on verge of completion. Hostels in IIT Bhubaneswar are pretty much well maintained, as is the case with most of the new IITs. Hostel facilities are available for both girls and boys. There is a single room allotted for every individual. Each room has all essential amenities, such as a bed, study table, chair, and a cupboard. Washing machines and water purifiers are also available on each floor. There is also a Lift facility for 8 storey hostels. For safety measures, CCTV cameras are installed in the outer premises of the hostels. Canteen facilities are available inside hostels and other places within the campus premises. All students who have registered for full-time courses in the institute have to live in the hostel. The rules and regulations of the institute govern the hostels. Everything was very clear to me during the admission process. The admission process for all the IITs is By Jee advanced exam. Candidates can write Jee advanced after clearing the cut-off for Jee mains. After the exam, the seats for IITs are allotted by JoSAA based on the ranks given. Application forms for Jee are available on the NTA website.

The exam I took was JEE advance and the admission process was on JOSAA it provides all the NITs IITs IITs and GFTIs on site we need to add the colleges and courses according to our JEE rank and previous years cut offs it actually takes 6 rounds for completing the admission process and 2 special rounds are provided for NITs and IITs and GFTIs who have not got anything in the 6 rounds can try in special rounds reservation is applicable in this admission process and a female reservation is also applicable for female aspirants.

For anyone to be eligible, he/she has to clear JEE Mains and then JEE Advance and must have scored more than 65% in high school. Scholarship provided by college

IIT Bhubaneswar offers scholarships to its 1st-year students of any 4 years B.Tech program on the basis of their merits and parental annual income. The institute also considers the past academic records of a student and entrance scores (if applicable). However, the Merit Cum Means Scholarship is awarded to only 25% of the students, while the Free Studentship is awarded to only 10% of students. The details regarding the Merit Cum Means Scholarship/ Free Studentship are as follows.

Merit Criterion:

For the 1st year students admitted at IIT Bhubaneswar, the scholarship is decided on the basis of scores of JEE Entrance exam and the last qualifying examination. However, the weightage for the JEE score and the last qualifying exam is 50-50%.

Means Criteria:

The annual parental income of the student from all sources should not exceed INR 4.5 lakhs.

Scholarship Awards:

The selected scholars will be exempted from the payment of the full tuition fee as a Scholarship award.
