Which is better: IMT Ghaziabad for marketing or XIMB?

For Marketing, IMT Ghaziabad is a slightly better choice. Around 40% of students got placed in the marketing sector during IMT Ghaziabad placements 2022. While the percentage of students getting placed in the marketing sector at XIMB is 14% only. According to the placement highlights, 7% of students from IMTG were recruited in FMCG sector. For XLRI, the corresponding figure was 4%.

Adobe, Accenture, HCL, Barclays, etc. are some of the major recruiters in the marketing domain at IMTG.

XIMB batch profile includes mostly engineers and almost 50% of the batch strength is from one state. So, there’s a lack of diversity and the networking opportunities are limited. Whereas, for IMTG, around 52% of the batch are from a non-engineering background and the students are from all across the country.

IMT Ghaziabad enjoys a locational advantage as well. Since it is located at the industrial hub of Delhi NCR.

I know a few people from both institutes. Here are certain facts that you should know about these two institutes.

IMT Ghaziabad has a big batch size of around 680+ students which is not a good fact in concern with the placements. XIMB has also started to increase the batch size but it is still lower than IMT.
The top offers at IMT Ghaziabad are great and comparable with top institutes such as IIM, SP Jain, XLRI, and MDI in India.
The least packages offered to left students at XIMB are given to most students at IMT.
IMT wins in having a prime location which is an advantage over XIMB. This makes it easy for IMT to organize guest lectures by top industrialists which is also an advantage over XIMB.
The students who have an inclination towards industries related to Mining, Metallurgy, Rural Marketing, Tribal affairs should go to XIMB.
The alumni network is vast and more widely distributed in IMT Ghaziabad than XIMB.
Both XIMB and IMT are average in concern with Consulting offers.
There are no such good companies visiting both campuses related to the FMCG sector.
In terms of Start-Ups, IMT observes a great and large number of Start-Up companies visiting for both internships as well as placements.
There won’t be many party nights, fests, festivals, cultural sports in both of these colleges. XIMB has a state domicile reservation that restricts student diversity.

A definite conclusion can’t be drawn between these two institutes as everyone has different expectations and future goals. So, weigh in all the factors and choose the institute that suits you best.
