According to recent reports, the highest domestic and international package offered at the end of Phase 1 IIT Bombay placements 2023 stood at INR 3.67 crore per annum and INR 1.31 crore per annum, respectively. The average package offered during IIT Bombay placements 2023 stood at INR 23.26 LPA.

However, the average package is based on many factors. The package you are offered depends on a number of parameters like experience, knowledge, communication skills, etc. Some people receive a salary package that is low but with great additional benefits like stocks, accommodation, foreign travel, patents published, whereas some receive a high in-hand salary with no additional benefits.

Despite all, very few people in India are offered a package above 20 LPA. Most high-paying jobs are in Non-core fields like finance and consulting.

Being a part of the M.Tech program of IIT Bombay is an enviable experience. Not all branches enjoy similar placement opportunities as CSE/EE. But if you work hard, you can bag a decent salary package, irrespective of your branch. During the recent placement drive, the average CTC offered to M.Tech students was INR 22 LPA, while the highest CTC offered was INR 45 LPA.

The average placement package offered to M.Tech graduates from IIT Bombay is around 13 LPA. Overall 86.83% of students get placed from the M.Tech courses at IIT Bombay. However, the average package depends on the MTech branch, specialization, and also job roles for the students recruited. While the average salary package offered to a developer or a programmer is around 3 LPA to 9 LPA, the same may vary between 9 LPA to 19 LPA for a Project Manager. Furthermore, the salary packages depend on the city that you opt to work in.

On an overall scale, most of the M.Tech graduates from IIT Bombay are recruited in the Engineering and Technology field, while the rest venture into Analytics, Consulting, finance, Public Sector, Research and Development, and other sectors. CSE and IT students are often offered the highest packages. Branches like Civil, Electrical, and Mechanical have less placement opportunities after M.Tech compared to the other courses.
