NM College BMS is a better option compared to NMIMS BBA. The course fee is nominal. The total course fee for the 3-year long course is around INR 84,000. While NMIMS BBA total fees are around INR 9.30 lakhs. NM College placements are good. The median CTC offered was INR 4 LPA during the recent placement drive. The ROI is definitely better compared to NMIMS BBA.
I have a few friends from KJ Somaiya College of Arts and Commerce, so I can give you some insight into their BMS course.
KJ Somiya is not a good option if you really want to pursue BMS for knowledge and not just for the sake of a degree. The teaching experience for BMS at KJ Somiya will not be satisfactory.
If you prefer knowledge over a degree, then you should go to some other better colleges such as MCC in Mulund. But, if you just want a degree in BMS then you can opt for KJ Somaiya. KJ Somaiya has a huge campus. This is advantageous if you want to bunk lectures and have fun sometimes.
Among these two options, NMIMS BBA is the better choice. The course is well-designed as per the current trends of the industry. The curriculum is interactive and there are various study-based projects and presentations that will keep you engaged.
NMIMS BBA placements are pretty good. Around 100% of students get placed. The average CTC received by the student of this department is INR 3 LPA.
The colleges that will offer Bachelors with honors courses in management studies have finally been identified by Delhi University.
The course is offered by six colleges in total: Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies, College of Vocational Studies, Keshav Mahavidyalaya, Maharaja Agrasen College, Bhim Rao Ambedkar College, and Deen Dayal Upadhyaya College.
The new course was implemented following the discontinuation of the BBE, BBS, and BFIF courses. These courses were extremely popular, and nearly all of the students were placed. There were 891 seats available across all three courses. The introduction of the BMS course has reduced the number by 51, which has enraged many applicants.
Keshav Mahavidyalaya is an off-campus college that is one of Delhi University's youngest and fastest growing, it has also provided exceptional placements for BMS.
Top companies such as AT Kearney, S&P CapIQ, CEB, SmartCube, McKinsey Knowledge Center, Google, Grail Research, and others have recruited students from the college in recent years. The Department of Management Studies has a strong alumni network that provides students with numerous opportunities. Thus, well-deserving BMS students from KMV can easily get campus placement, and the average package is around 4.5-5 Lakhs, with the highest offered in the previous year being 9.5 Lakhs.NM College of Commerce and Economics placements are good for BMS students. Here are the recent placement highlights.
Parameters | Statistics |
Average Package | INR 5 LPA |
Highest Package | INR 10-12 LPA |
Placement rate | 80% |
BMS Students usually get placed in job roles such as business developers, analysts, associates, etc. Many large-scale companies including the big-4 take part in the placement drive.
Having some of my friends study in both colleges, I can say that enrolling in Shaheed Sukhdev for BMS would be much more apt than that of IIM Rohtak for IPM. Both the colleges hold their places enormously but Shaheed Sukhdev will be better due to their overall educational experience.
There are several reasons for choosing it, some are:
Categories | IPM at IIM Rohtak | BMS at Shaheed Sukhdev |
Course Fee | 30.75 lakh | 40,075 |
Course Duration | 5 years | 3 years |
Highest CTC | 24 LPA | 19.25 LPA |
Average CTC | 13 LPA | 8-10 LPA |
Recruiting Companies | Amazon, Accenture, Berger, Capgemini, etc. | Google, KPMG, Deloitte, EY, etc. |
It is suggested that you choose BMS over IPM. Though, both have their pros and cons but opting for BMS is worth more than IPM. Also, Sukhdev has a great market reputation and placement record. After all, it’s your decision that matters. Think appropriately for yourself. Good Luck.
There are several options for you in Mumbai for the BMS course. Some of the top colleges are listed below
Among them, SIES is the best college for BMS, as they have the best infrastructure, academics, campus, hostel facility, placement, and so on
KJ Somaiya College of Arts and Commerce:-
It is a premier autonomous educational institute located in Mumbai. The institute offers various courses, both at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels in the disciplines of Arts and Commerce.
KJ Somaiya College of Science and Commerce:-
KJ Somaiya College of Science and Commerce offers UG, PG and Ph.D. courses to its students under various specializations. The admission in UG and PG are merit-based, while for Ph.D. the students must qualify the UGC NET exam.
KJ Somaiya College of Arts and Commerce is an old college with a good reputation. Whereas, KJ Somaiya College of Science and Commerce is a relatively new establishment. Other than that, there is no such difference between the quality of education in both these colleges.
Mithibai College is definitely the better choice for a BMS. The college offers an excellent faculty base for BMS. The environment on campus is ideal for academics. Mithibai College fees for BMS is also quite affordable. The 3-year long course will cost you around INR 84,000 approximately. All these factors make this college a better choice for pursuing a BMS degree.
I’ve had the opportunity to visit IIM Kozhikode, IIM Bangalore and IIM Ahmedabad for various competitions. While at these institutes, I interacted with many students. Some of them were from Economics background, and one had even completed her graduation in Philosophy.
Students from all these backgrounds, including BBS/BMS enjoy the diversity factor. This gives them an upper hand in the selection process over Engineers. But to enjoy this benefit, one must have a good CAT score, and a good academic record.
Prepare well for your CAT, and make sure you have a good academic record. If you fulfill these criteria, you’ll get into IIM Ahmedabad, regardless of your educational background.
Also, make sure to prepare well for the quant section of CAT. This is where the engineering students outdo the candidates from other academic backgrounds.
