IIT Hyderabad- The next Gen leader for IITs

Remarks :

IIT Hyderabad (IITH) accepts admissions through the JEE ADVANCED exam which is conducted once every year. The student has to clear JEE MAINS to be eligible for the JEE ADVANCED examination. The application forms for JEE MAINS can be found on the NTA website. Examination dates would be released by the NTA and the IIT conducting that years JEE ADVANCED. Reservation can be availed by students producing a valid EWS/Caste Certificate.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Engineering Physics at IITH was not my primary choice, but a choice I made after careful consideration of all the pros and cons. I had a keen interest in physics and IITH was closer to mt home so I decided to pursue EP. The faculty to student ratio is about 1:3 . Almost all of the faculty hold doctorates ans qualifications from many prestigious institutions across the world. IITH does not follow a term exam policy. Instead, it is upto the faculty to choose their method of evaluation. Most of the courses are easy to get a good grade, though not without some hardwork.

Internships Opportunities :

Various companies offer internships to students from IITH. A good portion of these offers are from Japanese companies and Universities. The avg Stipend is around 1LPM for 2month summer internships and around 1.5LPM for semester internships

Placement Experience :

Students can sit for internships from the sixth semester and for placements from the eighth semester. Afaik last yr the highest package was around 65LPA and avg package is, around 30. About 60-70% students get placed. My plans are to get a good job And get settled.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The fee structure for Open/OBC students Is 1L tuition fees per semester and 40k hostel fee per sem. SC/ST/EWS students are exempted from tuition fees. There are various scholarships available to EWS students such as the Vidyalaxmi scheme which they can avail. Students can do projects in campus in their core field and would get a stipend too.

Campus Life :

Elan and Nvision is the annual Techno-cultural fest of IITH. It is conducted In February every year. Most of the course related and academic books can be found in the library. Classrooms are equipped with AC, smart board, projector, smart TV and a lot more. Most of the sports like cricket, football, hockey, badminton, tennis, volleyball, table tennis, squash, swimming, athletics, chess, etc can be played. The IITH Gymkhana website is run by the students and can be viewed for more details.

Hostel Facilities :

You are given a shelf, cot, chair and table in the room. Meals are pretty bad but most of the students get used to it. Hostel registration is done on campus and the officials will guide you through the process.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this to get a degree in computer science which I thought would be better for me. The course curriculum is good as of now. The faculty-and-student ratio is okay too. But all of the faculty here are contract-based I suppose but are of good knowledge. The faculty inspires students to gain knowledge and motivates them to be independent as much as possible. They train students to be disciplined and are strict in that term. The teachers are also well qualified and of a good experience. The term exams got postponed due to the weather conditions and state holidays but apart from that, every other exam is conducted timely. But I would blame the correction for the pass percentage of the students from the university, though you would find the paper to score well.
