It offers around 25+ scholarship programs to international students. Over the years, these scholarships are designed in such a manner that all international students are recognized for their outstanding academic skills.
The majority of the scholarships cover around 50% tuition fee reduction to undergraduate and graduate applicants. These scholarships offer a minimum average amount of:
- International meritorious undergraduate students - 5,000 GBP
- Successful Indian master’s applicants - 3,000 GBP
The University of Sussex scholarships are awarded both on the basis of academic achievements and financial needs, yet there are a few general criteria that are to be considered while applying for a scholarship:
- Have received an offer of admission for a UG/PG degree at Sussex in 2021
- Hold UK first-class or upper second class or equivalent in most recent studies
As there are a limited number of awards available, these scholarships are highly competitive and only applicants with outstanding academic performance and potential will be considered.

Yes - my first-year accommodation rent was reduced by 40% and each year I've been awarded a bureau of 1000, paid in instalments each term. I was automatically enrolled in this and so all I had to do was supply my bank details.
Because I liked that it was in Brighton and the course was extremely interesting to me. I get to learn contemporary issues that relate to my interests as well as gain skills that employers are keen for students to have. I also heard really good things about it and upon visiting really like the atmosphere of the campus.
I liked it's close proximity to my home town and have always enjoyed going to Brighton. The university has a good reputation and good job prospects also and seemed like the ideal fit for me at the time.
