You have the opportunity to spend a year abroad in a Spanish-speaking countryÊand we offer advanced language modules focusing on translation and interpreting Ð valuable skills when looking for employment. Our facilities include multimedia laboratories, which offer a variety of interactive language learning programmes and dictionaries, and access toÊaudio, video and computer-assisted language learning facilities.
While studying English Language andÊLinguistics as a second subject, you explore both the structure of language and its relationship with culture, society and the mind.Ê
A broad choice of theoretical topics encompasses such areas as syntax, phonetics and phonology, morphology, sociolinguistics, language acquisition, semantics, pragmatics, literary stylistics and critical and cultural theory; modulesÊin language learning and teaching, creative and media writing, and language and media have a more vocational focus.
