Hostel
Accommodation facilities are pretty good with the costs that we pay.
Reputed university for my course and renowned university in the UK
Hostel
International students are offered shared, private, personal flat/ student rooms from university which one can chose as per their budget. Accommodations are really tidy, clean and comes with all the amenities. I also recommend to search for private accommodation which include individual flats to cut short the expenditure.
Diversity, Course structure, Location (Student city and beautiful place), University Ranking, and Large Alumni group. Interaction with previous student helped in taking decision
Hostel
The accommodation is a single room in an apartment with 5 students. The average rent is about £600 pounds a month.
It was ranked high for my degree and Scotland was a fun place to live. I chose computer science because I love coding.
Hostel
I was staying in a private student accommodation. It was a fully furnished studio with a private kitchen and a private bathroom. The studio accommodated 2 and I was living with my friend from India. The cost of the room was 215 GBP per week. the accommodation had a student lounge with many facilities, a laundry room, a cinema hall and a gym.
The rank of the University, the course structure and the location.
Hostel
Yes, I live in on-campus. it's beautiful.
Highly prestigious, best department in my field of research, and a nice supervisor.
Hostel
No. I privately rented an apartment at the beginning of my study which was shared. The average rental is around 400-500/month including bills.
My area of research interest was (and still is) immunology & inflammation focusing on auto-immune diseases. It is the department that I was drawn to.
Hostel
No, I live in private accommodation and it's easy to survive comfortably with 500 pounds per month and pay bills (food is extra).
The extensive research was done at the University of Edinburgh Infection medicine department and due to my interest in antimicrobial resistance.
Hostel
No, I live off-campus. The costs vary greatly depending on the locality, the facilities, and the type of rooms available.
I wanted to pursue a law degree in the UK and UoE has a high ranking in almost all lists.
Hostel
I live in university accommodation off campus where I was allocated a room in a flat of total 9 residents with a shared kitchen. I have a private bathroom with shower and a study space in the bedroom. The accommodation has a laundrette, common room and 24/7 security/reception which makes me feel safe and cared for.
Location is great as I now am in an English speaking environment studying English and Linguistics, Rating is also important as it marks high for both the quality of the university and my course which in itself ranks top in the world.
Campus Life
I tried not to attend too many events due to covid. But from my personal research and some involvement, the university does have a variety of societies and clubs. Anything you like, there's probably a club for it. If not, you can start one yourself. The university gym is not free to use. The main library is open 24x7. You get some good views whilst studying on floor 4 & 5. 'eduroam' is the university wifi. The connection isn't that good at my dorm accommodation. There's a lot of different helplines for dorm/flat issues but due to covid things take longer to happen.
