Studying over one or two years, students will have an opportunity to tailor their programme of studies to own professional or research interests. A personal supervisor will help students choose their best path through a wide range of options. If students so wish, their personal supervisor will also provide students with support if studenta undertake a research dissertation option.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Eligibility:
- Students must a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university to get admission to this program.
- Students require a minimum GPA of 3 on a 4.0 scale for the program.
- Students should have a second-class honours degree (2:2) or above in an any subject.
Indian Student Eligibility:
Indian students are eligible to apply if they meet one of the following eligibility criteria:
- Students must complete a 4-year undergraduate degree with first class in a relevant field from a recognized institution.
- Students need to submit minimum GRE exam scores for a better chance of admission.
- Students professional qualifications and/or relevant work experience in a field relevant to graduate study in the humanities will be taken into consideration positively.

If students are not from the UK and they do not already have residency here, students may need to apply for a visa.
The visa students apply for varies according to the length of students course:
- Courses of more than six months' duration: Student visa
- Courses of less than six months' duration: Standard Visitor visa
International students who require a Student visa should apply for their full-time courses as these qualify for Student visa sponsorship. If students are living in the UK on a Student visa, they will not be eligible to enrol as a student on Birkbeck's part-time courses (with the exception of some modules).
