Sri Krishnadevaraya University offers both full-time and part-time Doctor of Philosophy degrees to students. SKU offers a total of 28 doctoral programs. The full-time course duration is 2 years. • Candidates need to have a postgraduate degree to apply for a Ph.D. 
• There will be an Entrance Test conducted by SKU for selection to the Ph.D. program. 
• 33.33% seats are reserved for women candidates in each category but if there is no suitable women candidate in a category then seats will be filled with men candidates.

Sri Krishnadevaraya University Ph.D. Eligibility Criteria

For Full-time Ph.D. program eligibility criteria are:

• The candidate seeking admission into Ph.D. should have passed the qualifying examination with a minimum of 55% marks in the concerned subject. 
• Candidates who possess M.Phil. degree of this university or any other recognized university is eligible for admission in the Ph.D. program without an entrance test. 
• Candidates who possess M.E., M.Tech., M.D. (Medical), M.Pharm degree can apply for direct admission to Ph.D. program without an entrance test 
• Teachers working in Government degree colleges and private aided colleges can also apply. 
• GATE, APSET, NET qualified candidates can directly apply for the course. 

Note: Relaxation of 5% in marks is provided for SC/ ST/ Differently-abled candidates for admission into Ph.D. courses under SKURESCET. 

Eligibility Criteria for Part-Time is:

• Candidates who have scored 55% of marks with a minimum experience of three years in a Degree College/ Engineering College and four years in a Junior College are eligible for admission to Ph.D. Courses. 
• Candidates who have scored 55% of marks in the postgraduate degree are also eligible to apply 
• Teacher candidates of part-time M.Phil. degree of this university or any other recognized university with a postgraduate degree is also eligible to apply for a part-time Ph.D. program. 
• Executives with II class Postgraduate degrees working in the Central & State Government Organizations/ Joint Stock Companies with at least four years of service are eligible for admission to the Ph.D. program (part-time).

Sri Krishnadevaraya University Ph.D. Admission Guidelines

• The Admission to the Ph.D. course is through a University level entrance test called "Sri Krishnadevaraya University Research Common Entrance Test" (SKURESCET), conducted by the Directorate of Admissions, Sri Krishnadevaraya University. 
• Candidates can register themselves through the official website. 
• Seats are filled by the Convener of SKURESCET based on the ranks secured in SKURESCET and as per the rules of reservation in force. 
• Candidates need to pay INR 1000 for examination fees for SKURESCET. 
• Upon successful registration, candidates should take a printout of the filled-in application form for future correspondence.

• Certificates of 10th and 12th stating student’s qualifications
• Certificates of graduation for post-grad courses.
• University registration form
• Certificate of competitive exams undertaken by the student
• Copy of Aadhaar card as address proof

Sri Krishnadevaraya University Ph.D. Research Projects:

• SKU has a pursuit of major and minor research projects worth INR 4.5 Crore. It is an inter-departmental project. 
• The Department has linkages with the Industry in two major projects entitled, "Enhanced Oil Recovery in Petroleum Industry" and " Air-Space Pollutants and Environment". 
• The department of Physics is engaged in designing equipment and interfacing measuring instruments with micro- processors. The Herbarium of the Department of Botany is an internationally recognized one. It has a collection of more than 25,000 specimens.
• The collaboration involves exchange visits from both sides to enhance the quality of research and infrastructure acquisition by the Department of Biochemistry. Under the program, FIST (Fund for Improving Science and Technology infrastructure), the departments of Biochemistry and Botany have been sanctioned INR 47 lakhs and INR 32 lakhs respectively for infrastructure development by the Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India. 
• There is also an Art and Archaeology Museum sanctioned by the University Grants Commission and attached to the Department of History.
