Dibrugarh University M.Tech Important Dates

Dibrugarh University offers a two year M.Tech course in Petroleum and Exploration Technology in diversified areas of petroleum upstream sector, downstream and unconventional hydrocarbons in India. . The department of Petroleum Technology was established in 1969. The M.Tech course is approved by UGC and AICTE.The course belongs to the School of Earth, Atmospheric Sciences, Environment & Energy of Dibrugarh University. 

• The University promotes strong Industry-Academia Relation. As part of the course work regular field training is conducted in oil industries for the students. Project works are also carried out in oil industries on topics which are most prevalent. Guest lectures on special topics from persons from oil industries like OIL, ONGC, NRL etc. are organised frequently.
• Method of selection is based on Merit Entrance Test and Personal Interview.

Dibrugarh University M.Tech Eligibility Criteria

For getting admission in Dibrugarh University M.Tech course, the candidates should fulfil the following eligibility criteria:

• Candidates should have completed B.E. / B.Tech. in Mechanical / Chemical / Petroleum Engineering and M.Sc./ M. Tech. in Applied Geology / Geology / Geophysics from any recognised university.
• They should have scored a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate for being eligible to apply. 
• M.Sc. in Geology / Applied Geology/ Geophysics candidates should have Mathematics in their B.Sc. level. 
• Candidates who have cleared GATE are preferred more.

Dibrugarh University M.Tech Admission Guidelines

The selection of candidates is based on the basis of merit in the qualifying examinations and Interviews/Counselling taken by the committee.

How to Apply?

• Visit the official Admission portal of Dibrugarh University.
• Register by clicking on the “Register Button” provided on the Portal. 
• Provide your Mobile No. and set a password while registering. Your provided mobile no. will be verified through an OTP.
• Login using set Password.
• Click on “Apply” button Corresponding to the link of desired program. Application form will open
• Fill the Application form carefully by providing all the necessary details.
• Click on “Submit and Review”. Preview all the details carefully, if something is wrong, candidates are advised to correct it at this stage.
• Click on “Pay Now and Submit the Application”, if you have carefully reviewed all the details.
• An application fee of INR 750/- needs to be paid online through Debit Card/ Credit Card/ Internet Banking.
• On successful payment of the Application fee, the Application form will be finally considered as Submitted.
• Click on the “Download” button and download the Submitted Application form. Also, take the printout for future use.

The selected list of candidates for Interviews/Counselling will then be released on the Notice board of the Department and can be checked by visiting the website online. The final selected candidates will be given admission once they complete their document verification and submit their fees.

Dibrugarh University M.Tech Course Details

The M.Tech course is spread over four semesters with the last semester including Project Work for six months in any industry/institution. The course work includes theory, practical and tutorials. Two examinations namely mid term and end term are conducted each semester. The credits and total marks are given below:
