About IP College

IP College or Indraprastha College or IP College for Women is a constituent of Delhi University. It is also considered the oldest college for women under Delhi University with 3500+ students. It is approved by the AICTE and is accredited with an ‘A’ by the NAAC. In the year 2023, the college was ranked 97th in the ‘College’ category under the NIRF Ranking 2023. The IP College offers courses at UG and PG levels in the stream of Economics, Liberal Arts, Commerce, Literature, and Computer Science. Admission to the UG and PG courses is offered on the basis of CUET scores, followed by DU CSAS registrations for seat allotment. The college also has an active Internal Quality Assurance cell (IQAC) as well.

Moreover, Indraprastha College has a placement cell which acts as an intermediary between the students and recruiting companies. The final year degree students are eligible to participate in the on-campus placement drive. The college has a record of 80% student placements. The highest salary package offered to the student at IP College was INR 6.4 LPA. Some of the top recruiters participating in IP College placements are CNBC International, Avian Media, WION, etc. 

Furthermore, IP College succeeds at honoring its students with scholarships according to their merit. Some of these scholarships include the Rewa Dhawan Memorial Scholarship, B.B Lal Memorial Prize and more. For extracurricular activities, the college has three dedicated wings: cyber cafe wing, National Service Scheme (NSS) and National Cadet Corps (NCC) for its students. Other than the annual festival, the college also hosts annual debating tournament called ‘Vivaad’ as well as an annual theatre fest named ‘Kirdaar’.

Indraprastha College Admission Process 2024

IP College admission to the UG and PG courses is based on scores obtained in the CUET examination. The admission process includes appearing for the CUET examination and then registering in the CSAS seat allotment. Registrations for admission to college start after CUET result declarations. Candidates must select Delhi University while filling out the CUET application can register themselves on the DU CSAS portal and choose their college and course preferences. The entire selection process is carried out via the DU CSAS portal for both UG and PG courses in multiple rounds. The detailed IP College admission process is as follows:

Step 1: Appear for the Entrance Examination

Indraprastha College admissions are based on scores obtained in the entrance examination. The table below lists the entrance exams accepted for various courses at Delhi University:

Step 2: Registration on DU CSAS Portal and Filling of Courses and College Preferences

Candidates who qualify the entrance examination must register on the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) Portal of Delhi University for the seat allotment. Once the registration is done, candidates will be asked to fill college and course preferences. 

Step 3: Seat Allocation

The seat allocation will be done in multiple rounds for all programs. Seats are allocated based on scores obtained in the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) or other national-level tests, combination of college and program chosen, category (SC/ST/OBC/EWS/UR) of the candidate, and availability of seats. 

Step 4: Blocking of Seats and Final Admission

Candidates can check their seat allotment results by logging into Delhi University’s Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) dashboard. After the seat acceptance, the university will check eligibility, verify documents, and confirm admission after receiving the admission fees.

IP College Placements

The placement cell of the IP College acts as an interface between the students and the recruiting organizations. The final year degree students are eligible to participate in the on-campus placement drive. The placement percentage of the IP college is quite decent i.e. almost 70 to 80%.   • Library: The IP College has a well stocked library that maintains numerous books, journals, magazines and newspapers. It provides UGC NLIST and DELNET for accessing all e-resources and other things.
