IGNOU PhD Computer Science Assignments 

Assignments constitute continuous evaluation. The marks that you secure in the assignments will be counted in your final result. As mentioned earlier, an assignment of a course carries 30% weightage. You are therefore advised to take your assignment seriously. 

Non Submission of Assignment

The TMA for each semester can be downloaded from the Student Zone of the University website. You have to complete the assignment within the due dates specified in the assignment booklet. You will not be allowed to appear for the term-end examination for any course if you do not submit the assignment in time for that course. If you appear in the term-end examination, without submitting the assignments, the result of the term-end examination is liable to be canceled.

IGNOU PhD Computer Science Eligibility Criteria

Candidates need to qualify IGNOU Ph.D. Entrance exam for being eligible for the admission process. For the Entrance exam, candidates must qualify the following eligibilities:

• Candidates must have passed with 55% aggregate marks in MCA
• Or, Must have Passed B.Tech / B.E with minimum 55% marks with Computer Science or Information technology as specialization
• Or, Must have passed M.Sc with Computer science or Information technology and secured minimum 55 % marks 

Note: 5% eligibility marks relaxation for ST/SC/ OBC (Non-creamy layer)/ Different Abled.

How To Apply

To enroll for admission in IGNOU, the applicant must submit the application form available on the official website of the university. They can apply online as well as offline mode. However, it must be noted that the application forms are available on certain dates before the session commences. Follow the below-mentioned steps on how to fill IGNOU application form: 

Step 1: Visit the official website of the university in order to obtain the application form.

Step 2: On visiting the website, the candidate will have to click on the ‘Admission Link’.

Step 3: The candidate will have to enter their respective email IDs and password. After registering, the candidate can log in.

Step 4: On logging in, the candidate will have to click on the ‘Apply Now’ link. On doing so, the candidate can then fill the application form.

Step 5: One must cross-check the details entered in the form. After doing so, the candidate is required to upload a jpeg file of their respective passport size photographs and signature.

Step 6: Once the details are filled in, the candidate can proceed to pay the application fee i.e INR 1000. The payment can be made in both online as well as offline mode. For online payment, one can pay using credit/debit card/ Netbanking. For offline payment, students must send a demand draft to the university address.

IGNOU PhD Computer Science Selection Criteria

• Candidates for admission of Ph.D. Computer Science is selected by the admission committee of IGNOU  in two stages.
• In the initial stage, list of candidates are selected based on the merit of the IGNOU Ph.D. entrance score for the personal interview round.
• In the second stage, the performance of the candidates in the personal interview round is considered for selecting the final list of candidates for the admission process.
• Candidates, who have qualified M.Phil or NET/ JRF, are exempted from the Entrance exam. Those candidates will be directly called for the interview round.
