Master of Computer Applications [MCA] (Part Time) From IGNOU, New Delhi

IGNOU MCA admission 2024 for the July session has been started. The last date to apply is July 31, 2024. Interested candidates can apply online on the official website of IGNOU @ignou.ac.in. IGNOU offers the MCA course under the school of computer and information sciences. To be eligible for admission, the candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree of at least three years duration from a recognized university. In addition, they must have studied mathematics as a compulsory subject at the 10+2 level or as an ancillary in college. The course lasts from three to six years. Check IGNOU Admission Status

IGNOU MCA Eligibility Criteria 

The candidate must fulfil these eligibility criteria to get admitted to IGNOU for MCA:

• The candidate should have a three-year graduate degree from a recognized university.
• The candidate should have studied Mathematics in 10+2 or in college.
• In case the candidate did not study Mathematics, they have to pursue and pass the BCS-012 course concurrently with IGNOU MCA.

IGNOU MCA Fee structure 

• The fees for the full programme are 72,000 INR, with 12,000 INR to be paid per semester.
• Non- Mathematics students have to pay an extra 1,400 INR in the first semester for the BCS-012 course.

IGNOU MCA Assignments 

Assignments constitute continuous evaluation. The marks that you secure in the assignments will be counted in your final result. As mentioned earlier, an assignment of a course carries 30% weightage. You are therefore advised to take your assignment seriously. 

Non Submission of Assignment

The TMA for each semester can be downloaded from the Student Zone of the University website. You have to complete the assignment within the due dates specified in the assignment booklet. You will not be allowed to appear for the term-end examination for any course if you do not submit the assignment in time for that course. If you appear in the term-end examination, without submitting the assignments, the result of the term-end examination is liable to be canceled.

IGNOU MCA Syllabus 

There are a total of 31 courses under MCA, amounting to 108 credits. The MCA course uses a practical approach to knowledge through assignments, compulsory laboratories, and so on.

The three elective courses account for nine credits.

How to register to IGNOU for MCA?

To register for MCA, follow these steps:

• Visit the admission portal of IGNOU.
• Click on ‘New Registration’. The student registration form will appear.
• Type in your personal details. Choose a username and password.
• Fill in the security code and click on ‘Submit’.
• You may use the ‘Reset’ button to make any necessary changes.
• The username and password will be sent to you by email and SMS.

The following documents will be required at the time of admission:

• Scanned image of recent passport size photograph
• Scanned copy of signature
• Scanned copy of category certificate, if applicable
• Scanned copy of educational qualifications
• Scanned copy of experience certificate, if any
• Scanned copy of age proof.
