St. Stephen’s College New Delhi Admissions 2023

St. Stephen’s College offers UG and PG courses in BA, B.Sc, MA, and M.Sc with different specializations. Candidates who wish to apply for any of these courses must register online through the official university website. The criteria for admission is based on the CUET and DUET examinations conducted by the university or an aptitude test followed by a personal interview. Further details regarding the admission are mentioned below:

Candidates who wish to apply for the Diploma and Certificate courses are also required to appear for the CUET examinations.
In UG courses, honors programmes are offered as well with different specializations. The criteria for admission to this programme requires the candidate to have 85 percent marks in their class 12 exams, 5 percent score in their aptitude test, and 10 percent score in their interview.
Candidates who fall under the Person with Disability (PwD) category need not take the aptitude test. In order to determine their merit, 85 percent of marks will depend on their class 12 examinations and 15 percent will depend on the interview.
Candidates who apply through the sports quota will need to appear for a sports trial.
In PG courses the selection criteria is based on the marks scored in graduation. Those candidates who are eligible and shortlisted will be called by the college for an interview.

For UG courses:

Candidates need to visit the official website of Delhi University and register on the UG admission portal.
The institute will release a Cut-Off list based on 10+2 exam marks.
Candidates qualifying the Cut-Off percentage/ marks can apply for online admission on the official SSC website.
The application fee for the undergraduate course is INR 100 whereas the diploma course is INR 500 which needs to be paid online while the submission of the application form.
Candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of Entrance Test or merit obtained in the qualifying exam followed by a Personal Interview round (wherever applicable).

For PG courses:

Candidates can only fill the application form offline and obtain it from the college office. Online form filling facility is not available for PG courses.

Library: The library consists of thousands of books, magazines, journals, daily newspapers, and a separate archival section which holds all the records related to the history of the college. Sports: The college has a separate infrastructure for each of the sports provided by the college and also has a designated office for the Physical Education Department. Under the sports section, the college offers facilities like a cardio studio, badminton hall, basketball court, cricket grounds spread across 8.2 acres of land, two tennis courts, a shooting range, a football field, weight training gym, two squash courts, a table tennis area and a swimming pool.
Residential Facilities: The residential facilities provided by the college are divided into six blocks. Out of these six blocks, three are ladies’ blocks and three are men’s blocks. That is to say that there are well-maintained and well-equipped hostels (also referred to as residences) in equal amounts for women and men.
Chapel: A chapel is provided by the college for worship and meditation and is available for anyone without any restrictions.
Dining Hall: The college has also provided its students with a dining hall (usually referred to as “mess”). It has a seating capacity of 400 and provides the students with a well-balanced diet which is of top-notch quality.
IRC: The Internet Resource Center was provided to serve the needs of both the students and the faculty. The college offers two top-of-the-line well-equipped computer labs for the students’ and faculty’s computational needs.

It is not an exaggeration to say that the Economics course of Delhi University is the best in India in terms of curriculum and vigor.
Internship opportunities are numerous, as some students can work on the grounds for NGOs, while others who want to make profits can work for economic organizations.
Placements and job opportunities are the best in Stephens College. You dont need to worry about a job if you are a student of Stephens. They dont provide internships, but you can join a society in DU and easily get a job or internship.
Apart from that, if you are joining Stephens as a science student and have good grades in +2, you might also be eligible for the INSPIRE scholarship, which amounts to Rs 60k/year.
Sports are really good; we have a really good football team and basketball team.
The first-year students have to share a room with another student, but starting from the second year, they get their own rooms.
It\s the best college in India for arts and science streams. Notable alumni are proof of it. Just one word to describe the college: legendary.

Dislike

The cutoffs were announced after the board results, and all those who were eligible were asked to give an interview.

Had to clear the DUET entrance exam which is common for all the colleges at DU for post-graduation. After that sat for a personal interview round which was specifically for St. Stephen's College. The interview had basic questions related to the subject. Then a shortlisted candidate list of 10 students was out.
