Jamia Hamdard University MBBS Eligibility Criteria 

Aspirants seeking admission to the Jamia Hamdard University MBBS program must fulfil the following eligibility criteria. The eligibility criteria for admission to the MBBS are as follows:

  • Candidates applying for admission to the MBBS must have completed their 10+2 in Physics, Chemistry and Biology examinations with 50% aggregate marks.
  • For SC/ST candidates, the aggregate marks in 10+2 are set to be 50%.
  • Individual must be 17 years of age or will complete that age on or before December 31 of the year of his/her admission to the 1st year MBBS.
  • To get admission to the Jamia Hamdard MBBS course, students must have cleared the NEET UG examination organised by the National Testing Agency.

Candidates shall be admitted to the first year of the MBBS only if she/he have passed a qualifying examination as follows:

  • The Higher Secondary Examination or the Indian School Certificate Examination is equivalent to the 10+2 Higher Secondary Examination. The last two years of study consist of Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, or any other elective subject with English at a level prescribed by the National Council of Educational Research and Training after the introduction of the 10+2+3 years educational structure as recommended by the National Committee on Education.

Or

  • The intermediate examination in science from an Indian University/Board or other recognized examination body, which includes Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, shall include a practical test in these subjects and English as a compulsory subject.

Or

  • The pre-professional/pre-medical examination in physics, chemistry, and biology is conducted after passing either the higher secondary school examination, pre-university, or equivalent examination. The pre-professional/pre-medical examination shall include a practical test in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology and also English as a compulsory subject.

Or

  • The first year of a three-year degree course at a recognized university, with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, including a practical test in three subjects, provided the examination is a “University Examination” and the candidate has passed 10+2 with English at a level not less than a core course.

Or

  • B.Sc examination of an Indian University provided that he/she has passed the B.Sc examination with not less than two of the following subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany, Zoology) and that he/she has passed the earlier qualifying examination with the following subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English.

Or

  • Any other examination which, in scope and standard, is found to be equivalent to the intermediate science examination of an Indian University/Board, taking Physics, Chemistry and Biology, including practical tests in each of these subjects and English.


Jamia Hamdard University MBBS Selection Criteria

Jamia Hamdard University admits candidates for the MBBS program after they have cleared the NEET UG Examination. The students qualified for NEET UG will undergo counselling with the required committee.

  • Admission is offered to 15% of the All India Quota (AIQ) and 85% of the state quota seats.
  • The online counselling for admission to MBBS will be conducted by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on behalf of the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC).
  • The selected candidates will undergo a medical examination by a Medical Board set up by the HIMSR, consisting of institute Faculty members.
  • If a candidate is found medically unfit during the medical board's assessment, the candidate must inform the DGHS, whose decision in this regard shall be final.

The college offers a total of 150 seats for MBBS at Jamia Hamdard University. 50% of the seats in the Undergraduate courses, excluding NRI Seats, are reserved for Muslim minorities by birth. 

  • There is no management Quota/Seats at Hamdard Institute of Medical Sciences & Research.
