Acually I don't live in hostel but some of my friends do I am writing this as per their review. Yes there is seperate hostels for girls and boys and there is closing time of 9 30pm and each time you go out you have to sign the booklet and there is a common mess for all the 4 girls hostel and 3 boys hostels all are given same food for a day and there is different meals for each day of week. Wardens are strict no boys or girls can enter either boys hostel or girls hostel. I am not sure about the hostel fees bit it's somewhere around 1.3 lakh for ac ones and different for non ac dormitories including laundry, mess etc. They got a roomie with 2 beds and different Cupboard and there are w washroom at each floor and a common reading hall there is 24x7 wifi electricity geyser and ac(choice) other appliances like. Induction refrigerator are not allowed and there is bed chairs, and there is 24x7 lift facility nearby college there is a facility for of PG there are alot of PGs for girls and boys seperate pgs and eatery hubs too.
I personally dont have a lot of idea about the hostel system since i dont live in one but ive heard from friends that it is good. There are hostels accomodation inside the campus aswell as near the college like down the road which are not as good but good enough for students who didnt get rooms in hostels inside college. I believe it is a first come first serve sort of system regarding rooms in hostels inside the campus. The students do have to submit 10,000 rupees as security deposit for the hostel. The annual fee for girls only and boys only hostels is around 65-85k rupees along with the mess food including ac, water supply, electricity bill etc. The hostel which my friend loves in has a double seater sharing room meaning he shares his room with a single roomate. The room is provided with an AC, almirah, bed frame with matress, bedside table with drawers. There are two common washroom on each floor shared by 8 people which is cleaned everyday. There is also a showerhead on each floor. There is a designated area on the ground floor where breakfast/lunch/dinner is served on appropriate timings. Some students who dont take hostels live in rented flats or wth their relatives etc. Most students are local to delhi and normally live in their house.
Yes the hostels for boys and girls are different..boys are not allowed to enter girls hostel and vica versa ...also I'm a day scholar so don't know much about hostel...yes each hostel has different mess .I'm a day scholar so can't tell much about the hostel ..but I can try ...the washrooms are common there are no attached bathroom as per I know ..if students don't get hostel they stay in PG or flats..
I didn't get a hostel though but I know hostel facilities are good like good mess , wifi connection , common room , good rooms fully air conditioned , indoor sports complex also there for hostelers, hostels are guarded by security officers . Hostels facilities are good, there are different types of sharing rooms 2-3 , there are all basic amenities like Ac, cooler, geyser, wifi, almirah, study table , beds etc . washrooms are cleaned every day, there is a common washroom students used to share.

I have spent a year in Jamia Hamdard University boy’s hostel. This makes me eligible to answer your doubt.
The mess and laundry facility are nice but quite costly. During winter, there is a geyser facility at the hostel. Only the MHR hostel has an AC facility. But it costs around 1,45,000 to get a bed in this hostel, and the rooms are two-seater.
To buy milk and milk products, you can go to the Mother Dairy booth. Grocery shops, amul corner, cafeteria, and other canteens are all located close to the hostels.
There are much cheaper flats at the Tughlakabad extension. But flats have food-related issues. It becomes hectic to manage your studies and cooking simultaneously. But if you can manage this, then flats are a more cost-efficient choice in this case.
The hostel facility is sufficiently good, but the cost is on the higher side.
