Ph.D. From Sri Siddhartha University, Tumkur

For Ph. D in Medical and Dental programs

• candidates with master’s degree in the concerned subject or a PG degree from any other recognized University.
• The candidates who have the following qualifications are eligible to enroll for Ph. D programs in this University, under the following faculties.

For the Medical Department:

• Candidates with MD/MS, MRCP/FRCS or equivalent Master’s degree after awarded by a College/University recognized by MCI are eligible to apply for Ph.D courses in their subject of specialization.
• If the candidate is willing to apply for Pre-Clinical and Para-Clinical subjects, in addition to candidates who have done M.D. or M.S. after MBBS degree, non-\medical candidates with M.Sc., in Anatomy / Physiology / Biochemistry/ microbiology/ Pharmacology under Medical faculty as recognized by MCI can also apply.
• Candidates who have completed their M.Sc. in Human Genetics under Medical Faculty are also eligible to register for Ph. D course in Medical Genetics.

For Dental Research Programs:

• Candidates with MDS degree awarded by a College/University recognized by DCI or a PG Dental degree considered as an equivalent by SSAHE are eligible for enrollment for Ph.D course in Dentistry of this University.

For the Engineering Research Programs

The Candidate can register under any of the three categories mentioned below:

1. Full time registration: Candidates who are willing to pursue their research on a full-time basis.
2. Part Time Registrations: Candidates who have been in-service. Either they are faculty members working in any of the Engineering College/Universities of India recognized by appropriate government bodies, or those who have an Educational/ Industrial experience working in any Public/Private/Government sector organizations and wish to pursue their Research on part-time basis.
3. Full Time/ Part Time (Special) NRI/FN/PIO: Candidates who are under these mentioned groups shall be eligible for either full time or part time basis. These candidates should have passed Undergraduate or Postgraduate programs with the medium of instruction as English or should have qualified their TOFEL or ELTS examinations. The candidate will be required to communicate and submit their thesis in English only.

 The candidate applying to the engineering faculty should have a Master’s Degree in Engineering/Technology by any recognized University.

Any candidate who has a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering subject and working in National Laboratories, R&D Laboratories attached to Industries or such other Research Institutions or Industries can directly seek registration for Ph. D programs if he / she has published a work of outstanding merit or a work recognized for Patent rights.

Those Candidates with Master of Computer Applications Degree are also eligible for registration under Computer Science Board.

If the candidate wishes to purse his/her research in General Science, he/she should be a faculty candidate with a M.Sc. Degree in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and such other allied subjects shall also be eligible for registration. It is mandatory that their degrees are from recognized Universities and they are either working in Colleges affiliated to SSU or they are willing to work under the guidance of recognized faculty of colleges affiliated to SSU.

A Candidate should have obtained a minimum of 60% or an equivalent grade in either Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree examinations. However, a relaxation to the extent of 10% shall be allowed for candidates who belong to the SC/ST and any other category or candidates with a minimum of five years of experience of teaching or research.

Majorly, the candidate is required to clear the University Level Research Aptitude test whose results are valid for a period of two years.
