Kannur University B.Ed Admissions 2023 is open now. Admission to the program will be based on the marks/grade obtained by the applicant in the qualifying examination. The Last Date to apply for the B.Ed program is July 5, 2023. Kannur University offers a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) to candidates with a graduation degree. There are 50 seats in total that are available for admission each year. General Eligibility:

• Candidates seeking admission to the B.Ed. programme should have passed B.A./B.Sc.Degree examination (under the 10+2+3 pattern) with one main/core subject and two subsidiary/ complementary course or M.Com. Degree from Kannur University or any other University recognized by this University as equivalent thereto.
• Candidates who passed their qualifying examination from the Universities outside Kerala (recognized by University Grants Commission) after regular study need not produce Equivalency Certificate. Students who passed their degrees through distance education from Universities outside Kerala (except the Degrees from IGNOU that doesn’t require hands on training) and those who obtained regular degrees with different nomenclature from Universities in or outside Kerala should submit Equivalency Certificate along with their application.
• Double or triple main candidates of other Universities will be considered for admission only if they furnish the copies of the Equivalence/Eligibility certificate from Kannur University stating that the qualifying Examinations is recognized for seeking admission to B.Ed. Degree Course in a particular optional subject. Equal weightage is given to Single main Double main and triple main degree holders.
• The minimum requirement of marks for admission to B. Ed. Course is 50% or equivalent OGPA/CGPA in bachelor’s degree [Science/ Arts Subjects] for Part I+ II+ III together (Common, Core, Complementary and Open Courses) or PartIII (Core and Complementary courses) alone or 50% or equivalent CGPA in M.A./M.Sc./ M.Com. with usual relaxation for the eligible categories asperUniversity/Government/NCTE Norms.
• Academic eligibility should be satisfied as on the last date for submission of application.

Other Provisions:

• B.Ed. aspirants must have cleared B.A./B.Sc/B.Com/M.Com Degree examination (under the 10+2+3 pattern) with one main/core subject and two elective/complementary courses from this University or any other University recognized by this University as equivalent thereto.
• Candidates who passed their qualifying examination from the Universities outside Kerala ( recognized by UGC) after regular study need not produce Equivalency Certificate.
• SC/ST candidates and natives of Lakshadweep, Aided or Government Teachers with 3 years of regular service need to secure a pass in the Degree Examination.
• The candidates belonging to SEBC will be given a relaxation of 5% and the candidates belonging to OEC (Other Eligible Category) will be given a relaxation of 5% from the prescribed minimum marks.
• Blind candidates who have more than 40% disability will be given relaxation of 5% from the prescribed minimum marks. Candidates should be Physically fit and mentally sound. Blind candidates will be eligible for admission to courses other than Science optional.
• Candidates should be physically fit and mentally sound. Deaf/Dumb candidates are not eligible for admission. The blind candidates will be eligible for admission to courses other than Science optional.

Kannur University B.Ed Selection Process

Selection will be based on the marks/grade obtained by the candidate in the Degree Examination. Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview, prior to which admission to the selected candidates shall be secured.

Special preference will be given to the candidates with a master’s degree. Extra marks will be given to the candidates on the basis of their marks/grades secured in their post-graduate degree examinations.

A weightage of 5 points/marks will be given to candidates who have taken a Degree from Kannur University. Eligible weightage will be given to NSS and NCC certificate holders.

In the case of applicants with double main and triple main subjects, admission will be based on the total of all main subjects, and weightage will be given only on the subject which the applicant applies as optional.

Candidates applying for Kannur University admissions may follow below mentioned steps:

• Visit the official admission portal of Kunnur University i.e. admission.kannuruniversity.ac.in.
• Now Choose UG Admissions/ PG Admissions.
• Choose the “Apply Now/ Login” option under the previously selected admission category.
• Click on the Apply Now link in the respective program.
• Register yourself using valid details and get your Application Number.
• Login Using Application No. and the set password.
• Fill out the form by entering personal details, qualifications, etc.
• Upload Photo, Signature.
• Pay the Registration fees by SBI Epay.
• Submit the Application.
• Take the printout of the Application form.

• Qualifying Degree/ P.G. certificate and of higher qualifications, if any.
• Mark Lists of qualifying Degree Examination/ Grade Card(All Semester/yearwith cumulative Grade card)
• Transfer Certificate and Conduct Certificate.
• Nativity, Non-creamy layer, and Community Certificate for those who claim weightage or reservation benefit.
• Experience Certificate in Form IV of KER for claiming admission under Teacher's quota and for giving weightage for teaching experience.
• These certificates should be signed by the Head of School and countersigned by AEO/DEO.
• Equivalency Certificate from the Kannur University in the case of double or triple main candidates and students who passed their degrees through distance education from Universities outside Kerala (except the Degrees from IGNOU that do not require hands-on training) and those who obtained regular degrees with different nomenclature (stating that the said degree of other University is equated to the concerned degree of Kannur University.)
• Any other certificates from the competent authorities for the claim of admission under any specific quota that is Sports/ NCC/ Differently Abled Persons (PWBD)/ Linguistic Minority/ Defence personnel etc. if applicable.
• Certificates proving EWS category.
• A certificate from the Headmaster stating that the teacher has applied through proper channels for eligible leave to undergo B.Ed. program should be produced.
• Any other relevant certificate for any claim made in the application.
