DBSKKV Ph.D: Fees 2025, Course Duration, Dates, Eligibility

Dr. Balasaheb Sawant Konkan Krishi Vidyapeeth, Dapoli, Dist. Ratnagiri (BSKKV) is affiliated to MAHARASHTRA COUNCIL OF AGRICULTURAL EDUCATION & RESEARCH (MCAER) and DBSKKV provides various Under graduate and Post graduate programs. It offers 3 major disciplines for PhD namely Agriculture, Fisheries and Agricultural engineering with 10, 6 and 5 sub-disciplines respectively.

Preferences would be given to your application form if you belong to Mahrashtra or have passed school/college from the same (‘M’ Quota) and have passed the qualifying examination from the Colleges / Institute situated in the University area (‘U’ Quota). The remaining seats shall be filled by candidates belonging to other states and on the spot admissions.

Admissions as per merit and reservations on available vacant seats after completion of all proposed online admission rounds in the concerned Colleges/Institute shall be termed as the 'Spot Admission.' Attendance in that respective College/Institute for on spot admissions is compulsory. If you are absent due to any reason whatsoever then you will not be eligible for spot admission.

Selection is done on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying (Post-graduate) degree and/or rank in Common Entrance Test conducted on all India level by ICAR, New Delhi. Check DBSKKV Admission

You should have passed the postgraduate degree examination with minimum 6.5 CGPA on 10.00point Scale. 

In case of a ‘Tie’ for admission, the following criteria will be applied in the following sequence for deciding the merit number.

• Higher CGPA in Post Graduate Examination.
• No of years required to complete postgraduate degree programme and
• The candidate elder in age.

Hostel accommodation for a limited number of students is available at the hostels of the colleges of the Universities on merit basis. Every student admitted to colleges is not necessarily given or promised admission to the hostel attached to that college.

Maximum annual fee payable (excluding hostel charges) is Rs.18586/-.

The medals, awards, and cash prizes are awarded to the meritorious students who top at the various Master degree examinations as per the University regulations as approved by the Executive Council. Various scholarships and concessions are also available.

Eligibility Criteria

You should have passed the postgraduate degree examination with minimum 6.5 CGPA on 10.00 point Scale. Also:

1. Agriculture: M.Sc.(Agri.) / M.Sc.(Hort.) Degree in the concerned subject of the Agrilcultural Universities in Maharashtra or of any other Agricultural University recognised as equivalent thereto.
2. Fisheries: M.F.Sc. Degree in the concerned subject of the Agrilcultural Universities inMaharashtra or of any other Agricultural University thereto.
3. Agricultural Engineering: M.Tech. (Agricultural Engineering) Degree in the concerned subject of the Agrilcultural Universities in Maharashtra or of any other Agricultural University recognised as equivalent thereto.

Selection Process

Total Number of Questions: 180

Section Wise Distribution of Questions:

Physics: 1-60 Questions

Chemistry: 60-120 Questions

Mathematics/ Biology/ Agriculture: 120-180

Total Marks Allotted: 720

Marking Criteria: The candidates will be given four marks for every right answer marked by them while they will be penalized in the form of zero marks being deducted for the wrong attempts hence the candidates can attempt as many number of questions as they like in order to bring high scores.

STEP 1 Visit the following link and choose the MCAER PhD Online Admissions option.

STEP 2 Fill the application form carefully, take a print out and sign it.

STEP 3 Deposit fees by challan in State Bank of India branch or through Debit Card, Credit Card, Net banking or attach Demand Draft to the application form, payable to the ‘Financial Advisor, MCAER, Pune at Pune. Attach photo copy of challan if amount deposited by challan. 

Fees for open Candidate is Rs. 600/- and for Reserved Category Rs.300/-. All candidates including those belonging to reserved category from States other than Maharashtra shall pay Rs.600/-.

STEP 4 Candidate shall send the printout of his duly signed Application form with a recent passport size photograph pasted in a space provided along with self-attested copies of relevant documents** by Post or by Courier Service to
