The following answer is based on my brother’s experience at NMIMS and may vary from person to person depending on their own personal expenses and standard of living. The table below shows the NMIMS MBA fee structure.

From the above data the approximate cost is 26-27 Lakhs. The additional expenses like hanging out, fares, and miscellaneous activities can amount to 1 Lakh.
Now let’s consider you staying in a flat and not a hostel. The MBA fees remain the same. But the living expenses are considerably cut down. My friend lives in a flat with 5 people and shared her average expenses.
The total expenses including tuition fees amount to 30-33 Lakhs. I think it’s better to go to a hostel than to a flat.
Most part-time courses carry no real value other than adding the post-graduate tag. They have no worth in the corporate world irrespective of whichever reputed college you have chosen. NMIMS is one of the top reputed B Schools in India and has a big brand name.
I know a friend who chose NMIMS Executive MBA and paid hefty fees just for the brand name instead of doing the same course at a less popular B School. She regretted her decision and claimed the program to be a total waste of money and time. She said she could have done the same from another B School at half the cost. So part-time MBA itself is not that worthless, but paying a hefty sum merely for the brand name and postgraduate tag is illogical. You can do the same program at a much lesser cost than other B Schools.
The simple answer to your question is no, the new HR programs of IIM Ranchi, NMIMS, or XIMB are not at par with the established ones XLRI, TISS, MDI, and SCMHRD. The established programs especially that of XLRI are the epitome of HR programs. They cannot be compared to the new ones at any given level or parameter.
Now one can say that the curriculum can be replicated and learned faculty can be sought to match the quality of the HR program at these institutes. But the truth is faculty and curriculum are the main but not the only factors that determine an institute's worth. Its own culture, ethics, and background have a lot to do with the programs it offers.
So one cannot match XLRIs programs no matter how much they try.

NMIMS is indeed one of the top B Schools in India. It has many distinguishing features making it one of the most coveted MBA destinations for aspirants. Some of them include
NMIMS is special in all the above aspects making it a distinguished choice among MBA aspirants.
Comparing the two, an MBA from NMIMS and a job through SSC CGL are highly illogical. The prospects and magnitude of both career inclinations are totally different. Let’s conduct a general comparison on the basis of some common aspects
So MBA will guarantee you a lot but money which does matter to an extent but not when compared to the reputation you will gain as an SSC officer. MBA requires a lot more than you think. It may groom you but not ensure a better social structure like CGL.
My sister has recently completed her BBA with a specialization in Finance from NMIMS and she told me about the actual placement scenario of the college. She agrees with the fact that NMIMS is a top B School with an excellent curriculum and faculty. You will be offered amazing opportunities in the form of working in a big MNC or becoming an entrepreneur.
However, the situation of placements is not what it seems from the reports. Although my sister was able to get placed she witnessed many of her batch mates unplaced or placed with a very minimal package. Many companies visit the campus owing to the great brand value but the major problem that arises is the huge batch size. The competition is tough as the intake is very high. This year the total intake is BBA 600; BCOM 180. Henceforth very low packages are offered that are not even close to those mentioned in the placement reports.
In my sister's batch apart from 3 students, every student got a package of less than 3 LPA. Deloitte hired less than 17 students. While the placement scenario was really poor, the knowledge that she gained in those 3 years did help her pass CFA level-1 the next year. So it’s you who can decide if the money you spend is worth it or not by determining what you really want from your BBA.
The Bachelor of Business Administration program at NMIMS is pretty good and ranks 3 across the country. My brother completed his BBA from NMIMS Mumbai in 2016 and during his time the average package was INR 3 LPA. Currently, the median salary is INR 4.8 LPA. The companies that visit the campus for BBA placements are
You will have a lot of opportunities and the crowd is also talented in almost everything. Multiple internships offered mainly from Intershala are offered to students at different times. The timings can vary from division to division and depend on your semester as well.
You have asked multiple questions at the same time and I'm here to clear all your doubts. Starting with the first part is how NMIMS is, well it is better than the newer IIMs and institutes like IMT, SIBM, SCMHRD, and IMI. In case you have calls from these, straight away go for NMIMS only. You can pursue an MBA with any specialization here. You should reconsider your decision however if you have calls from MDI, NITIE, IIFT Delhi, IIT Bombay, and JBIMS and you are willing to study something apart from Marketing.
However, NMIMS is not comparable to the older IIMs and FMS.
Cost of MBA (2 years )
The yearly NMIMS MBA fees are INR 11.95 Lakhs Fees. The additional costs are around 2.4 Lakhs every year. So the total cost of an MBA for 2 years is around INR 28.7 lakhs.
Worth
It’s impossible to evaluate correctly if a certain B School is worth the money. Some end up with high packages while some with low packages. Also, ROU is a broad term and cannot be determined by just the package you receive. Most of the time I have seen the lives of people with low packages change after their first job. So the initial package is just a stepping stone and not a deciding factor.
Placements
Some major companies that visit the campus for placements are Aditya Birla Capital, EY, Capgemini, Cognizant, ICICI Bank, etc.
