Ph.D. (Education) From Nagaland University, Zunhebotto

The admission to the Ph. D Programme is done at the beginning of new Academic Session, Candidates with at least 55% marks in the master degree in the relevant subject are required to appear for an entrance test followed by interview which will be conducted by the respective departments. Candidates will be selected according to merit, determined after giving suitable weightage to the following:

(a) (i) Persons with M. Phil Degree from this University

(ii) Students securing an average “A” grade of 60% and above in the course work of M. Phil Programme of this University

(iii) Percentage of marks in Master Degree or equivalent (at-least 50% in case SC/ ST candidates)

(iv) Performance in the test and interview

(b) Candidates qualifying in any of the National Eligibility Test (NET) recognized by the UGC will also be considered for selection

(c) Subject to availability of seats, candidates belonging to the following categories and possessing a master degree may also be admitted on the recommendation of the Department

i. Recognized regular employees of NU

ii. Teachers of colleges affiliated to this University possessing a Master's degree with an experience of at least 3 years of continuous service

iii. Person with M. Phil degree from other recognized Universities

iv. Person who has completed at least three years of research in a research laboratory/ Institute

v. Person having Master degree in the relevant subject and at least 9 (nine) years experience in administration, Management and specialized knowledge in the proposed field of research to the satisfaction of the department concerned

vi. Person who has completed at least one year of research in a University/Institution after his/her registration, provisional or otherwise under the supervision of a teacher, who may have since joined the University. Relaxation for SC/ST candidates will be given as per UGC guidelines.
