The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) was launched in 2015 by the Ministry of Education. It is a methodology used by the Govt of India to rank Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in India. These institutions are ranked under 11 different categories. The university in the year 2021 acquired its position in 6 categories, i.e., Overall, University, Engineering, Management, Pharmacy, and Architecture.
As per the NIRF rankings 2022, Chandigarh University ranks 48th for its overall performance. The agency has improved in its university ranking from 52nd to 29th among the Top 200 Universities in India. In the Engineering and Management category, CU ranks at 45 and 40, respectively.
