Chandigarh University Rankings: NIRF 2022 

The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) was launched in 2015 by the Ministry of Education. It is a methodology used by the Govt of India to rank Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in India. These institutions are ranked under 11 different categories. The university in the year 2021 acquired its position in 6 categories, i.e., Overall, University, Engineering, Management, Pharmacy, and Architecture.

As per the NIRF rankings 2022, Chandigarh University ranks 48th for its overall performance. The agency has improved in its university ranking from 52nd to 29th among the Top 200 Universities in India. In the Engineering and Management category, CU ranks at 45 and 40, respectively.

Earlier in 2021, Chandigarh University ranked 77th for its overall performance. The agency has given 52nd position to CU among the Top 200 Universities in India. This is the first time that Chandigarh University has featured in the ‘Overall’ and ‘University’ categories of NIRF. CU ranked 61 for Engineering and 45 for the Management category.

QS Rankings is an annual publication by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS). The ranking agency receives approval from the International Ranking Expert Group (IREG). QS Rankings is one of the three widely-read university rankings in the world. It comprises three parts, out of which, Chandigarh University has been featured in two: 

QS World Ranking 2023- CU is ranked 3rd in Indian Private Universities Category in the QS University Ranking 2023. This has been a huge milestone for the University as CU has become the youngest university in the world to make its debut in the QS World Ranking. 

QS Asia Ranking 2023- Under the latest QS Asia Rankings 2023, Chandigarh University has been ranked 2nd among the Top Private Universities in India and ranked 185th among the Top HEIs in Asia.

QS World Rankings 2022 by subject: Chandigarh University ranks 601-650 worldwide for its CSE programs. In India, CU ranks at 4th among all the private universities for the CSE program.
