Master of Education [M.Ed] From TNTEU, Chennai

Tamil Nadu Teachers Education University (TNTEU) is a state university, established in 2008. It has more than 700 affiliated colleges which consist of Government/ Government-Aided/ Self-Financing Colleges of Education.

TNTEU offers the 4 programs in most of its affiliated colleges such as B.Ed, M.Ed, M.phil, and Ph.D. For admission to M.Ed. / Ph.D. / M.Phil., a student must possess the qualifying degree in the relevant stream. Interested candidates can apply by submitting duly filled-in applications, along with necessary enclosures and processing fee, before the last specified date. 

Final selection of the candidate for M.Ed. and M.Phil. will be done on the basis of performance in the qualifying degree examination. For M.Ed & Ph.D. admissions, an entrance test will be conducted by the concerned department and candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of the marks scored. Check TNTEU Admissions

Reservation Criteria

For candidates belonging to SC, ST, MBC / DNC, BC, and other special categories, reservation of seats and other concessions are granted in accordance with the statutory provisions of the Government of Tamil Nadu.

How to Apply?

Candidates seeking admission to M.Ed. / Ph.D./ M.Phil. program can download the prescribed application form available at the university website and submit it upon completion to the University office along with the processing fee.

For M. Ed Program, Candidates can fill the application form through the official website. Take the print out copy of your online application submitted. Sent the print out copy along with required documents and send them to University address, “The Registrar, Tamil Nadu Teachers Education University, Gangaiamman Koil Street, Karapakkam, Chennai – 600 097” with superscription on the top of the envelope as “Application for Admission to M.Ed Program: 2021-22”.

Application forms can also be obtained from the University office in person on payment of the prescribed fee by means of Demand Draft (DD). DD should be drawn in favour of “The Registrar, Tamilnadu Teachers Education University,” payable at Chennai 600 005.

In case of Ph.D admissions, duly filled-in applications should be countersigned by the principal and proposed guide where the candidate has proposed to do the Ph.D. Research work.

Note: SC/ST candidates should also produce copy to the Community Certificate to avail the concession in the application fee.
