Tripura University offers full-time MA programs for a duration of three years divided into 6 semesters.
The MA program is specialized in 19 subjects that include Journalism and Mass Communication, History, Philosophy, Geography, Education, Psychology, Political Science, Sociology, English, Hindi, Bengali & more
The minimum eligibility to apply for M.A at Tripura University is to have a Graduation in the relevant subject. However, an entrance exam will be conducted by the University.

Tripura University MA Eligibility Criteria
- Candidates must have completed B.A in the respective subjects from a recognized institute
- Those appearing/ appeared in the BA final semester examination with respective subjects are also eligible.
- Candidates with a bachelor's degree in any stream can apply for MA in journalism and mass communication and for MA in linguistics and Tribal languages
- Candidates who have completed a PG diploma in Kokborok can also apply for MA in Kokborok.
Tripura University MA Admission Guidelines
Admissions for M.A in Tripura University are entrance based. Candidates need to clear CUET (Common University entrance test) to get MA admission. The university releases merit lists based on candidate’s scores on the entrance test
For some streams in M.A, candidates need not attend any entrance exam. In that case, the admission is done based on marks obtained in graduation only.
How to apply?
- Open the Official website of Tripura University
- Go to the academics and select the “admission” from the drop-down menu
- After clicking on the admission portal, a page will appear, click on the “Online Admission 2023 – 2024” tab which will be present on the right side of the page.
- Now, a pop box will appear asking you to return or continue. Click on continue.
- After that, a page will appear asking you to select the Application type. Click on “Regular course”.
- Now, a page will appear mentioning opening and closing dates of application and also general Instructions for the regular programs.
- Scroll down till the end of the page and you will find two tabs, click on “Go to online application form”.
- It will lead you to the Login page. If you are a new user, click on “Register now”.
- A page will open allowing registering yourself. Fill the fields in the registration form by giving valid information and click on “Submit”.
- After submitting the registration form go back to the login page and log in.
- Complete the Application form and submit it.
- The Application fee for UR/EWS/OBC candidates is 800/- INR and for SC/ST/PWD candidates is 600/- INR
