Jadavpur University was established in 1995 and is formerly known as Bengal technical Institute. The university offers various undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctorate level programs in streams such as engineering, science, architecture, education, and social science. The university has announced the list of eligible candidates(in case of non-appearance of names in the previous selection list) for admission among the postgraduate programs on December 9, 2020.

Jadavpur university offers postgraduate programs in various areas. The university offers various ME programs with a duration of 2 years including 4 semesters. The university also provides some of the specific ME programs in evening mode which includes 3 years with 6 semesters.
The ME program is specialized in areas namely chemical engineering, civil, computer science and engineering, electrical engineering, electronics and telecommunication, Food tech and biochemical engineering, information technology, instrumentation and electronics, mechanical, metallurgical and material, production engineering, power engineering, printing engineering in various disciplines.
The minimum eligibility to get admission to the ME program is a graduate degree in the relevant discipline.
The selection of the candidates will be done based on the GATE score or internal test score and the under-graduation score.

Eligibility criteria:
- Category A candidates: (GATE/GPAT)
The candidate must have passed the bachelor’s degree in Engg/tech with at least 60% passing marks for general category and 45% for SC/ST/PWD category students. The candidate must have passed the GATE/GMAT with valid results and can apply for the ME programs.
- Category B candidates: (sponsored)
The candidate must have passed the bachelor’s degree in Engg/Tech/Arch/pharmacy or MSC/MCA with at least 60% passing marks for general category and 45% for SC/ST/PWD category students.
The candidate must have a minimum experience of 1 year after passing the undergraduate degree duly sponsored by the industry/institute. For PG in Computer Science and Engineering/ Civil Engineering/ Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering course, one must have a minimum of 2 (two) years of experience) duly sponsored by Industry / Institute/ Govt. Depts.
- Category C: (Self-Sponsored)
The candidate must have passed the bachelor’s degree in Engg/tech with at least 60% passing marks for the general category and 45% for SC/ST/PWD/OBC category students. The candidate under this category can apply for only some of the programs listed on the official website.
Further, the additional eligibility criteria differ with various departments of engineering.

How to apply?
- One has to Visit the official website of the Jadavpur university for getting the application form.
- The candidate has to fill the application form mentioned on the website.
- Mention all the details regarding academics, personal details, guardian details, contact details.
- Attach the required scanned copies.
- Then submit the application form.
- Pay the application fee of INR 500/- using credit/ debit card or net banking in the SBI bank.
- Download the application form and fee receipt for future purposes.

- Marksheets and certificates of higher secondary examination and a bachelor's degree in relevant fields.

Ans. The eligibility Criteria is as follows:
- Nationality: A person must have a nationality of any country other than India and a valid passport for the entire duration of the course.
- Academics: one must have a bachelor's degree in Engineering/Technology with at least 80%
- One should have a valid GRE score.
- AGE criteria: the person should not be less than 21 years and more than 30 years.
- One should have a valid score in the English language qualifying examination.
