Presidency University Kolkata MA English: Fees 2025, Course Duration, Dates, Eligibility

Candidates must apply for admission by filling in and submitting completed online application before the last date. Candidate can obtain Admission Application Form by downloading from our website.

Candidate should logon to the university website and follow the following steps:

1. Registration with necessary details and remember the self-created log-in ID and password for future log-in.
2. Fill the application form with the required details
3. Upload the scanned copy of  Recent passport sized coloured photograph of the candidate, Full signature of the candidate, Age proof (Admit Card of 10^th standard examination) or birth certificate, Mark sheet/grade card of B.A./B.Sc. (for PUMDET)
4. Pay the application fee either online (by net banking, debit/credit cards) or offline (by e-challan)  payment modes
5. Upon successful completion of application the system will generate a confirmation page congaing all the details entered by the candidate. The candidate needs preserve a print out of this page till admission.
6. Download the admit card on the notified date
7. Candidate must keep the Xerox copy of the completed applications for subsequent use

Note: Application fee for PUMDET: Rs. 350/- + Rs. 10 as bank charges

The candidate should bring following important documents in original and their photo copies positively for verification during counselling:

1. Transfer Certificate   
2. Community Certificate (For OC candidates community certificate not required)   
3. Certificates for Special categories, if required     
4. Nativity Certificate if required   
5.  Date of Birth Certificate (SSC / ICSE / CBSE).
6. Medical certificate
7. Admit Card of PUMDET -2016.
8. PUMDET rank card
9. Admit card of 10th standard examination/ Birth certificate
10. Mark sheet and certificate of 10th standard Board examination
11. Mark sheet and certificate (if available) of 10+2 standard Board examination
12. Mark sheet and certificate (if available) of B. A. /B. Sc. examination

Fees for the self-financed international students is US$ 1,000/- per semester (all inclusive excluding hostel facilities) for undergraduate and post graduate courses.

At the PG level, Presidency University Kolkata offers full-time MA and M.Sc courses in multiple electives at the PG level. For admission to MA and M.Sc program candidates should have a BA(Hons) and B.Sc(Hons) in the relevant discipline for MA and M.Sc courses respectively.

Admission is offered on the basis of candidates’ score in PUMDET organized by WBJEEB. WBJEEB finalizes the admission after conducting counselling rounds for the selected candidates as per PUMDET merit list.

Presidency University Kolkata PUMDET 2020

For the academic year 2020-21, WBJEEB is going to conduct a common entrance examination (PUMDET 2020) to offer admission in MA/ M.Sc (H) courses offered by Presidency University, Kolkata.

Candidates have to answer 50 MCQs of 100 marks for the duration of  2 Hours. Each correct response will yield two marks while a wrong answer will result in the deduction of 1/2 mark.

Presidency University, Kolkata PUMDET Merit list: WBJEEB will publish a merit list on the basis of candidates’ marks in the entrance test. Final rank list can be availed from the official website of WBJEEB portal only.

Those who will maintain a position in the General Merit Rank (GMR) List will be called for counselling rounds at:

Note: Final admission on the basis of counselling is subject to rules prescribed by Presidency University, Kolkata.

Documents required at the time of PUMDET counselling:

• Downloaded copy of ‘Registration Form of PUMDET-2020”
• Downloaded copy of Rank Card of PUMDET 2020
• Two recent Passport size colour photography
• Original Mark Sheet of 10+2 or equivalent
• Caste certificate for reserved categories

Note: Admission fee is required to be paid at the time of final counselling round in the form of DD drawn in favour of “West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board” payable at Kolkata.

Presidency University, Kolkata PUMDET Application Form 2020

PUMDET application form can be filled online only form WBJEEB portal by following the below-listed steps:

1. Visit the official WBJEEB portal and fill the application form.
2. Upload scanned copies of the desired documents.
3. Pay the application fee of INR 500 by Credit/ Debit Card or through Net-Banking.
4. After completing all the application related formalities, download the ‘Confirmation Page’ for further usage.
