Admission to the college involves a process starting with an entrance exam, followed by the publication of exam marks and a merit list. Based on this list, three rounds of counseling sessions are held, after which students are admitted, with some securing admission during the 3rd counseling session. The department has only two permanent professors and four to five guest lecturers, highlighting an immediate need for five or six more experienced professors and improved laboratory facilities.
The Master’s course fee is approximately 3,700-4,000 INR per semester, totaling 15,000-16,000 INR for the 2-year program. Self-financing courses like Data Science, Nanoscience, and Food Technology have slightly higher fees. The college does not have an active placement cell or internship programs, leading to limited job opportunities. The Swami Vivekananda Merit-cum-Means Scholarship offers 2,500 INR per month and is available to students with good marks who have passed their Higher Secondary exams or are undergraduates.
Loans are only available for self-financed courses. Information about the scholarship is announced publicly when the state publishes HS results.
