The academic year includes two semesters, with each semester having three Continuous Assessment exams, plus main theory and practical exams. The Forensic Science department offers unpaid internships at SFSL, CFSL, and the Department of Forensic Science, NRS, focusing on lab and fieldwork. However, there are no external company placements or project works available. The B.Sc. Forensic Science course at MAKAUT, a state government university, costs Rs 21,000 per semester, totaling Rs 42,000 annually and approximately Rs 179,750 over four years, including tuition, lab, library, development, caution deposit, registration, and exam fees. Students from West Bengal may qualify for the Vivekananda Scholarship, and there are also national and state scholarships available. The SVMCMC Scholarship provides Rs 18,000 annually based on merit.
