IIIT Una is one of the 20 IIITs being set up under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Scheme by the Government of India. The institute is recognized as an Institute of National Importance by the Ministry of Education. At present, IIIT Una offers BTech and Ph.D. programs under different specializations.

IIIT Una offers BTech CSE as its flagship program for a duration of 4 years. The institute grants admission to this program on the basis of JEE Mains score followed by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) and Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB).
