IIT Tirupati MPP Eligibility Criteria 2024 

A variety of degrees are accepted as qualifying degrees for the Master of Public Policy program. Students from practically all fields are eligible to enroll in this course. The list of all qualifying degrees and the required marks for the IIT Tirupati MPP course are as follows:

• Candidates who have already obtained or are likely to obtain at the end of the academic year a Bachelor's degree (after 10+2) or equivalent in any subject from a recognized university or institute are eligible to apply for admission to the MPP program offered by the Institute.
• At least 55% marks (taking into account all subjects, including languages and subsidiaries, all years combined) for General /OBC/ EWS category candidates and at least 50% aggregate marks (taking into account all subjects, including languages and subsidiaries, all years combined) for SC/ST and PwD category candidates in the qualifying degree.

IIT Tirupati MPP Selection Criteria 2024 

Admission to the MPP program will be done through two tracks.

• Track 1: Applicants who have taken and received valid GATE exam scores.
• Track 2: Candidates who have not previously taken the GATE exam during an admission year, applicants will only be considered for one track at a time. To generate the final merit list, these two tracks will be treated individually.

IIT Tirupati MPP Selection Track 1

For eligible applicants who have taken the GATE exam and have valid GATE exam scores.

• To be considered for the next phase of selection, applicants must have a valid GATE score.
• Only GATE applicants who score at or above the Institute's cut-off will be invited to personal interviews.
• Based on the GATE score and the interview, a final merit list will be prepared. The Institute will determine the criteria for admission as full-time students, including the relevant cut-offs, with relaxation for reserved category applicants in compliance with Government of India rules. The Institute will make changes to the admissions criterion on a regular basis.

IIT Tirupati MPP Selection Track 2

For eligible applicants who have not taken the GATE exam.

• Candidates who do not have a valid GATE score will be required to take the written exam.
• Only applicants who scored at or above the cut-off for the written test will be invited to the final interview.
• The written test and interview results will be used to build a final merit list. The Institute will determine the criteria for admission as full-time students, including the applicable cut-offs, with exceptions for reserved category applicants in compliance with Government of India rules.

IIT Tirupati MPP Course Details

The curriculum will last four semesters and will include:

• Core courses to be compulsorily taken by all candidates
• Elective courses in 3 streams depending on the choice of the candidate
• Dissertation 

The program has three streams of specializations which are given below:

1. Science and Management of Sustainability are multidisciplinary and can be opted by all enrolled students. 
2. Students opting for Data Science must have a prior B.Tech in Computer Science 
3. Students opting for Sustainability and Engineering must have a B.Tech in Civil or Environmental Engineering.

The application Process for IIT Tirupati MPP is as follows:

• Visit the official website of IIT Tirupati.
• Register in the external user registration portal of IIT Tirupati.
• Login using the same credentials.
• Fill out the detailed application form.
• Upload the required documents.
• Pay the required application fees.
• Appear and qualify for the entrance test of the centre. (in case not have a valid GATE score)
• Participate in the personal interview.
• If shortlisted, the institute will get in touch as soon as possible to inform you about the remaining admission process.

Documents Required for IIT Tirupati MPP

The following documents are required for admission to IIT Tiruaptu MPP Program:

• Offer of admission.
• Birth Certificate / SSC / SSLC certificate as proof of Name and Date of birth
• Any valid government ID proof such as Aadhaar, PAN, Passport, Driving License, etc.
• Original GATE Score Card or CSIR-UGC-JRF/LS/NET/ DAE-JEST or other fellowship award letter (if applicable).
• Degree certificate/Provisional/Course completion certificate/Grade Cards/Mark sheets of all the semesters of degrees obtained.
• SC/ST/EWS/OBC-NCL community certificate for the candidate belonging to the SC/ST/EWS/OBC-NCL category. [OBC-NCL scholars to bring a Non-creamy layer community certificate valid at the time of admission].
