The points below give a brief overview of some of the advantages of choosing DAIICT over SVNIT.
- According to some professors of SVNIT itself, DAIICT is a better institute for CSE and IT, compared to SVNIT.
- The overall placement statistics of DAIICT are far better than that in SVNIT, with more high-paying jobs offered in the institute.
- DAIICT doesn’t have as good a reputation as NITs in India. But, in companies like Amazon, MAQ, Morgan Stanley, etc, DAIICT has a far better reputation than SVNIT.
- There is an excellent open-source coding environment in DAIICT.
- The number of GSoC entries from both institutes makes it evident that DAIICT has much more success in open-source contribution.

DA-IICT admissions to B.Tech program under the All India Category is done on the basis of valid marks in JEE Mains entrance exams. For admission to the DA-IICT M.Tech program, the candidate can seek admission either through a GATE score or on the basis of scores obtained in the qualifying degree and the interview.

DA-IICT provides both Merit & Merit-cum-Means scholarships to students of its Undergraduate and Postgraduate programs. The amount ranges from full to partial tuition fee waiver depending on the student’s academic credentials and financial condition. Additionally, MTech students who are GATE-qualified and Ph.D. research scholars receive financial assistance in the form of Teaching Assistantships.

At the undergraduate level, the Dhirubhai Ambani Institute of Information & Communication Technology (DAIICT) in Gandhinagar provides four-year BTech and BTech (Hons) programs. Following GUJCET/JEE Mains Counseling, admission to each of these programs is determined by their rank in the entrance exams. There are five types of scholarships offered by DA-IICT..
- DA-IICT Merit & Merit-cum-Means Scholarships for M.Sc (DS) students: The M.Sc (DS) Merit & Merit-cum-Means Scholarships are awarded to reward meritorious students of the M.Sc (Data Science). The scholarship will be awarded semester-wise beginning from the second semester after declaration of semester results. The Scholarships will be awarded based on SPI obtained in each semester. The number of Scholarships will be limited to 7 (seven only) for a batch.

- Cybage Khushboo Scholarships: The Trust has instituted Merit-cum-Means Scholarships at DA-IICT for economically backward students. Five Scholarships is provided per academic year starting the academic year 2020-21 to the students of B.Tech. (ICT), M.Sc. (IT), M.Sc. (DS) and M.Des. (CD) programs. The amount of the Scholarship shall be limited to 80% of the tuition fee a student pays in a semester. Hostel fee and any other fees or expenses will not be covered under the scholarship. The gross annual income of the student’s parents should be less than 3.00 lakh.
- Merit & Merit-cum-Means Scholarships for M.Sc (IT) students: The M.Sc (IT) Merit & Merit-cum-Means Scholarships are awarded to reward meritorious students of the M.Sc (IT) program through the duration of the program. The scholarship will be awarded semester-wise beginning from the second semester after declaration of semester results. They will be awarded based on SPI obtained in each semester. The number of Scholarships will be limited to 10 for a batch.
