Bankura University PhD admission 2023 will start soon. Once the application form is released, interested candidates can apply online on the official website of the university. PhD at Bankura University is a full-time doctoral-level program offered in 15 specializations across three streams of Science, Law and Humanities.  The minimum duration of the course is for 3 years. The vasic eligibility criteria would require a person to pass the master's degree in relevant discipline from a recognized university. Final selections are based on entrance scores conducted by the university itself followed by PI.

Candidates seeking admissions to PhD program of Bankura University must fulfill the below mentioned eligibility criteria:

• To be eligible for the Ph.D course, the student candidate needs to hold a Master's degree with at least 55% aggregate marks in the concerned subject from any University/ Institute/ Centre which is recognized by UGC.
• Students belonging to the SC, ST or Differently Abled Category would require 50% marks in the concerned subject of the master's degree.
• Candidates must also appear for NET/ SET/ GATE/ M.Phil or any other national level entrance test or RET (Research Entrance Test), which is a university level entrance test for admissions.

Bankura University PhD Application Process

The application form can be filled in offline mode by obtaining the application form from the campus. Below mentioned are the steps to be followed for admissions process:

1. Visit the campus of Bankura University to collect the application form.
2. Fill in the application form with the required academic and personal information correctly.
3. The duly filled application form with necessary documents and entrance test fee of INR 200 should be submitted to the office of the Registrar, Bankura University, Main Campus, Beside NH 60, Bankura Block II, P.O. Purandarpur, Dt. Bankura 722 155).
4. Candidates employed in any institution are required to submit a No Objection Certificate from the respective institution at the time of admission to the Ph.D coursework programme.

• The student candidates who have already qualified any national level tests like NET/ GATE/ SET/ M.Phil and Foreign Nationals with International/ National fellowships like TWAS (Third World Academy of Science) shall be exempted from appearing in the entrance test.
• The candidate shall be able to secure at least 50% marks in the entrance test (45% in case of SC/ST/Differently Abled category students) in order to qualify the entrance test.
• The selected candidates then can appear for an interview.

Bankura University PhD Course Details

PhD program at Bankura University is offered in below mentioned 15 specializations:

Course Curriculum: A research scholar willing to take admission into the Ph.D course would be required to undertake a coursework for a minimum period of one semester. After the completion of the coursework, the candidate shall be permitted to proceed to the Ph.D. in integrated course. The minimum course duration for the Ph.D. programme is 3 years and the maximum duration is for 6 years. Any further extent in the time duration will be governed by the relevant rules as stipulated in the Statute or Ordinance of the University. Vacancy of the seats may change as per the availability of Research Supervisors. Evaluation is done in CBCS pattern. Examinations are held at the end of each semester. 75 % attendance for coursework classes is compulsory.

Award of Grades: A Ph.D scholar has to obtain a minimum of 55% of marks or its equivalent grade in the UGC 7-point scale (or an equivalent grade/CGPA in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) in the coursework in order to be eligible to continue in the programme and submit the dissertation/thesis. Maximum two chances shall be given to the scholar for clearing the coursework, failing which may lead to cancellation of admission.
