Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu (SKUAST), is a state university established in the year 1999. It is affiliated to the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR). The university offers a variety of UG, PG, Ph.D., Diploma, and Certificate courses in the field of Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Fisheries, Veterinary and Animal Sciences, and other allied sciences. Admission in UG and PG courses is based on the SKUAST-J CET score or ICAR CET score followed by marks in qualifying examination.
The selection of candidates in Ph.D. is granted on the basis of merit in UG and PG courses also, followed by an interview and counselling rounds.
Admission to the Diploma and Certificate courses is given on the basis of merit secured in10+2 and 10th standard respectively.

Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology has a counseling and placement cell that assists the students in finding jobs in their respective fields.
